KTM Release Official Free X-Bow GT4 Mod For Assetto Corsa

In a rather cool move, KTM have released a free mod for Assetto Corsa - bringing the officially licenced X-Bow GT4 to the simulation.

New mod with official KTM licence.
Developed with real data from the team.
Available to download for free for Assetto Corsa.

Feels like its been a long time since I wrote some new news about Assetto Corsa, with game development having been completed following Kunos Simulazioni moving on to their latest project, Assetto Corsa Competizione. However, seeing as the original AC remains exceptionally popular within the sim racing community, even in the middle of 2020 we have new news - a brand new mod has been released, but with the official backing of the real world manufacturer!

Yes, GT4 fans have a new toy to enjoy in AC from today following this rather cool announcement - adding one of the more unique cars of the GT4 regulations to the olden, but still golden Assetto Corsa simulation.

Yeah, huge thanks to all involved for their hard work and generosity, it's very much appreciated. This has been a fantastic bit of PR for KTM and will be fondly remembered by sim racing enthusiasts for a long time to come.
I feared something like this might not happen again after Brabham were badly stitched up when they tried something similar with the BT62 so it was even more of a pleasant surprise when this popped up out of the blue. Hopefully other manufacturers will note the goodwill that this has generated and try something similar.
I've been lapping Spa in a big pack of these for a large part of the day and it's already one of my all-time favourite cars in Assetto. Flat out through Eau Rouge with Crew Chief barking that I'm "..in the middle, three wide" is a very effective cure for constipation.

Is that really an official thing? I don't remember reading anything definitive (but maybe I've just forgotten, it being so long ago). It does seem like there have been patches since then. (Quick google: seems like 1.16.3 landed in Jan 2018. Wow, feels more recent.)

Nice freebie! Fun to drive, nice cockpit with Motec, so no HUD really required.
After concentrating on AMS2 and Raceroom lately, it was refreshing to come back to AC and get into the good little group of GT4 cars and give them a trashing around VIR. I always enjoy AC ( with SOL etc.). I think I still like the Cayman Clubsport best, but I got a better laptime in the KTM and its something different. Need to see how it compares to the one in RRE.

This is a mod of the highest quality, as you would expect when it is official. It drives so well, the detail of it is fantastic, you can just jump in it and start going quickly. It's one of those cars that's easy to drive but hard to master, that's the best type! I just love it!

There's no information on the car selection screen...like "eats other GT4's for dinner, 450 HP @ 7500 rpm, 3.4 mpg", etc.
