Just got redirected to a questionable site from RD

Bez

All the gear, no idea...
Just logged onto RD and was immediately taken to a fake Facebook page claiming that I'd "been selected" for a prize, i take it this is an advertising redirect and just wanted to warn people not to enter information into the page, not really a good look for the site as these kind of site redirects are normally only found on torrent or porn sites.

I have stuff like this from time to time, but only with my mobile phone. Somethings infected there as it seems (on my own device, not from the site itself).

Might be a problem on your side aswell because redirecting stuff like this on RD is new to me at least

Was also on my android mobile, though i suspect it's the site and not my phone as i don't get this issue on any other sites on my phone

We do not have redirects here. It will be an issue with your device. I would recommend getting a reputable anti-virus and anti-malware software. You can get anti-virus software for Android devices and I assume you can get anti-malware software too. Make sure and clear cache and temporary internet files too.

if I had a redirect virus/malware on my phone would i not be getting redirected from other sites? only time this has happened was when i opened RD today

I have exactly the same issue on my Andriod phone, but, as @quicksilver384 said, it is an issue with my device. I get the same redirects to the same sites from other places I visit on my phone. I have AdBlocker Plus installed, which works well when it's running. If I'm on a new WiFi that I haven't set up yet, then ABP doesn't work at all.

I also get that when using RD with my mobile. Not really an issue with the device as I get this only from RD out of my 30 or so sites that I have bookmarked. Without adblock RD would be impossible to use with my mobile, some rare times it sneaks through adblock even.

I had/have this problem from time to time and I spent a lot of time googling it about 2 years ago.
Answer is something like "on Android mobiles it can happen that random redirects get im between the Website and the Browser. You can't do anything against it and it's not your fault, nothing wrong with the Website and nothing wrong with the Phone.
Only solution: close the Browser and try again "

I have it random on any pages. Had it 10x a day and then a month not even once. Why RD triggers it with your mobile? I don't know... I had it always on the same pages for a few days and then on other specific pages...

I know that doesn't really help but at least you know now what it is :)

It's an advert that's badly configured. Bit disappointed to see the denials of the issue tbh. On my iphone (malware free) if I use my normal browser I'm logged in as me, and I'm premium, and have an ad-blocker anyway, so no ads and all is well. On said iphone if I click a link via facebook it does of course use the facebook browser (annoyingly). In that browser I am not logged in and thus see all the ads. Doing this it tries to redirect me to the app store presumably to download some garbage. You have some problem ads, denying the problem won't make it go away. And no, I'm not buying random redirects either. I'm a software developer, so I'm just not going to fall for that.

Well there is always an easy solution .
You should consider Installing Adblock Browser ,or you could just root your phone and install custom filter that block all kinds of redirects and ads that tend to be rather obnoxious to say the least .
If you are having redirects on the PC,i'd suggest you install uBlock Origin the overall best adblocker currently on the market you can cut and block individually all the elements which you don't want to see .
Back in the day ads and redirects used to be quite rare ,nowadays it's common to have over 20% of the pages filled with worthless information(ads) not to mention it's annoying and such a drag to manually put them to the long filter list of things to block/hide .

Strahil, I do. However the Facebook iOS app insists on opening things in its own browser which cannot have ad block installed. If you had read my post you would have noticed that I said that.
