Unfortunately most AMS tracks are encrypted and will not directly open in 3Dsimed.
I used to spend ages editing them to my liking, but I could only do it by finding the equivilant rFactor track (for private use only of course) (there is usually a matching version somewhere on the net), make the changes in 3dSimed to the rF version, then convert the changed files back to AMS format using rFactorTools conversion tool(it used to be here on RD, not sure if it still is).
I know there is a way to decrypt AMS tracks so that you can edit them in 3Dsimed without going through all that, but I struggled to do that successfully so I stuck to the above method.
