I get 'You have insufficient privileges to post threads here' in mod threads.

Hello, I have posted in the mods section before without any issue, it's been some time so I am not sure if there have been policy changes or anything since but I am not sure how to acquire said privileges to post. Like the last mod I posted which was not a mod but a save game for MSC, I wanted to post an updated version of it and I can not.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi there.
Which forum were you trying to use on this occasion?
I think you are trying to post in the sub-forum which contains only the automatic threads - the ones which are created when you upload a mod.

The simple remedy is to look for the "Add resource" button (see screenshot below) which you'll only find in the lower-level Downloads section for your chosen sim, e.g. the "Cars" or "Save games" section, rather than the top-level one.

E.g. use https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/categories/msc-save-games.162/
rather than https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/categories/my-summer-car.88/

I think maybe this was a little different on the older version of the forum, and I can see how confusion might result. We might need to take a look at tweaking it... (Giving @Dave Stephenson a nudge to see if he agrees that it's confusing ;))

It's already on the list of todos.

As Neil says, for the moment you need to create them from the download section. You can navigate to the correct section and create them directly or just press the add resource button on the downloads main page linked in the nav bar and you will be presented with a list of categories.
