How do I pm somone?

Hello sorry to ask a dumb question but I used to use this forum a good bit years ago, I seem to remember pm`ing people was easy and straight forward, however the forum format has changed so much that I am struggling to find any information on a persons profile page how to private message them.

All I can find is a text box on their profile page, where I can seemingly type text but I cant be sure whether this text box is an actual private message.

Can someone please point out where the option/button/link to private message a person is please?

Click on the name of the person you want to send an PM to, then select "Start a conversation" in the pop up

ok, i get, I assumed the "start a conversation" was like a public chat session, which Ive seen similar on other sites, anyway, great I understand this is private. cheers for the prompt reply dude

actually. I am sorry, just one other thing I am a bit unsure about

I have started a conversation, and was just about to post it but I see these options

• Allow anyone in the conversation to invite others
• Lock conversation (no responses will be allowed)

I assume the first one means that the message is private UNTIL either that person or I invite another person to join in?

Will the 2nd option allow the person I am pming to reply to me?
lol, never seen this level of pm options on any forum or site ever, perhaps you can understand my concern lol
