Help on pc build

I've been reading and searching around for my pc build. I'm looking at first at the CPU, Mobo, and GPU. I'll be getting them one at a time, so I want to get one of them soon. Here's where I'm at right now,

CPU- Intel Core i5 750
Mobo- EVGA P55 FTW 200
GPU- XFX HD585XZAFC Radeon HD 5850

I found this on a website and it looked good to me in performance and price. I want to know what the community thinks.

The motherboard you have selected is an expensive option and uses the older socket 1156 format.

Personally I would look for a motherboard with a P67 chipset and the more up to date LGA1155 socket, for a processor the far faster i5 2500k is in the best sweet spot for price and performance. The money saved on the motherboard would put you into Radeon 6950 territory.

Good call, I kinda figured I could upgrade the stuff I was starting with, so this is what I got for now,

CPU- Intel Core i5 2500K
GPU- Radeon 6950
MoBo- MSI P67A-GD65 B3 Intel P67

A very nice setup, depends obviously on which sims/games you intend to run and how big your monitor is. I have the same CPU and the 2GB 6950 which runs iRacing and GTR2 with all setting on max no problems on a 22" monitor..

As long as you are still talking about a single monitor the 6950 should be able to handle it no problem. I am pretty sure that the 62" TV can't handle much more than 1080i anyways :)
