GTC 65 @ Watkins Glen GP - Thursday 18th Dec 2008

This event is Cancelled / Postponed due to insufficient numbers.

We'll try again in the New Year.

Time for another GTL fun night, we'll continue the theme of casual fun and trying out the diifferent cars available in GTL.
This time, we use only the GTC 65 cars, but two races using a different car for each race.
We have divided the class into two groups:

American Power: AC Cobra, Chev Corvette, Shelby Daytona, Shelby GT350, TVR Griffith

Euro Finesse: Austin Healy, Ferrari 275, Jaguar E Type, Lotus Elan, Lotus Elite, Mercedes 300SL, Renault Alpine

You must pick one from the American Group for Race 1, and one from the Euro Class for Race 2.

Notes:

Important: Please pay special attention to Racedepartment's Golden Rule: If you hit another driver and disadvantage him, we expect you stop and let the other driver regain his position on you. If this costs you many places (eg first few laps) then consider this a penalty for your driving infringement. Doing this shows respect to your fellow drivers and will encourage drivers to be more careful. Please use some care when letting the other driver regain position, do not immediately stop your car on the driving line where it can cause further accidents. Not following this rule will result in your membership of the racing club being terminated at once!

It's got the big ass ford V8 under the bonnet, so technically "American Power" is still valid. :good: And Blackpool power doesn't sound quite so....charismatic. It sounds like the company that runs the Illuminations.

My Euro car was a toss up between 2, so if you want the Alpine, I'll switch back :good:

It was literally a toss of the coin this morning between them for me, so I'd already decided to switch about if there were any other takers for either. :good:

Yeah I know, but we needed to get some more cars into the American group to balance the numbers a bit. So I went for "partly" American, besides it fitted more competitively and power wise with the Yankee stuff.


EDIT: BTW I'll go with Shelby GT350, Austin Healey.

Stuart, I estimate that Practice will start at 6.30AM Sydney time. Does that mean you can't make it???

I'm having to officially downgrade my attendance status to "doubtful" :bad: - I'm going live with a fairly major project that evening (moved back from Wednesday), and I can't guarantee what time I'm getting home - 2nd race should be OK, first race is under threat though.

Same fore me, also I don't have to work on Christmas day's but a few evenings and next Sunday.
Sadly , Watglen is still one of my favorites so lots of fun guys.

I think Tim's right there, the week before Christmas is never going to be overflowing with people, I'm just gutted I might be missing out because of poxy work.

Yep, I wouldn't read too much into a lower turn out in the week before Christmas.
Just look at the sign up's for the Abarth Event in the new year. The future of GTL still looks shiny.
