This week we visit a classic: the Red Bull Ring, formerly known as the A1-Ring, and before that, the old Österreichring. An undulating circuit through the Austrian hills, the Ring provides a great opportunity for some close, clean racing. Come and join us!

A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you have to check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.

When entering the track from the pits, stay off the racing line until you are up to speed. Do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by. On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Golden Rule

If you hit somebody off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits

No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in teamspeak. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

Note: this information is out of date, this is now hosted back on RD due to configuration issues on SGP.

Hey everyone!

With RaceDepartment's own hosting ending in December, it's time that we should move to simracing.gp. I know a number of us tried it in the early days and many (including me!) had a lot of complaints about it -- but trust me, it's a lot better now. It's now at the stage where I feel comfortable using it for GT3 events, and I hope you know I wouldn't do anything that I think would jeopardise the quality of these Sundays with you all :)

The sign up link is in the first post. I encourage you all to still discuss race details, strategy, tips, etc here, and generally socialise. That's probably the most important part of this club, after all.

Currently it seems SGP doesn't have practice server support built in, which is certainly a shame since I know it plays an important social role in the running of the club, much more so than just practicing offline. I will talk to @bram more about that, with the hope that some proper support will be added, or there will at least be some interim supported way to host them at RD after RD's own hosting is gone.

Anyway, I strongly encourage everyone to give SGP. Racing there no longer feels like an experiment, but something actually proper, so I think it's time to embrace the future of racing at RD. Of course, with change comes inevitable small annoyances, but we'll get there in the end. Please feel free to share any concerns, issues, or other feedback in this thread and I'll make sure it's taken on board :)

Another R8 for me, please Chris

A question on SGP: in the pilot Discord had to be used. Will we continue using Teamspeak?

Haha, that's a UI bug, it's 20 + 6. Only reason I know that is because I also was confused in the mini championship...
so. I did some laps offline and my setup is just all over the place.
in all the corners it overrotates mid-corner and starts to go oversteer, but in turn 6 and 7 (Pirelli and Wurth) it goes understeer on acceleration.
any quick tip or just take some new and work from there?

I can acces the page and I see the event and the cars but I can't register or select a car. I don't see a button to register. I have clicked everywhere. Any suggestions?

I had that problem before Han too. Only way to get it sorted was for Bram to send me another setup email or invite I think.

Just tried to sign up myself and have the exact same problem as Han. AGAIN

If you send me your e-mail mate, I'll add you.

@Bram Hengeveld, we'd really benefit from having an easier way to do self signup that doesn't involve every race organiser sending invites, I'm happy to do it for this first race, but I'm not going to do it every single new member that appears race after race :)
