A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you must check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Always try to re-enter the track parallel to the racing line. Stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

When joining the track from the pits, remain inside the white line and stay off the racing line until you are up to speed.

During qualification, do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody, sending them off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. You will get 3 warnings before a drive through penalty for exceeding track limits to your advantage. Any warnings/penalties are displayed in the chat window at the end of each lap
Note: Please use your full real name in Discord and in game. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify who you are.

Yes , I think it was something A in CM.
The 992 Porsche pdf file tells you it and then you use the patch in CM.
If you have a problem will go on my PC and give you the exact answer

Gentlemen. From investigations this week, in the interest of sport and closer racing, BOP is back sooner than expected. It's looking like almost a full second between the fastest and slowest cars. Rather than wait a few weeks, as planned originally, a base BOP has been applied for this race and we will continue from here with the results based system, as per below.
RSS cars should start to become competitive again from next week onwards.

First 3 placed marques are awarded a ballast/restrictor penalty to those cars. Every 6 races the points are halved. The car with the least amount of points is returned to zero, if applicable.
So

1st place 3 BOP points
2nd place 2 BOP points
3rd place 1 BOP point.

The scale goes

  • 0
  • 2kg
  • 4kg
  • 4kg 3% restrictor
  • 6kg 3%
  • 8kg 3%
  • 8kg 6%
  • 10kg 6%
  • 12kg 6%
  • 12kg 9%
  • etc

Should be driver, not car.
As it is obvious, I must assume that it is the application of driver BOP? that is were the problem is.

Say for example at a particular track you and I have a theoretical equal pace. But, you are in car x, which is a second faster than my car y.
There are 30 laps in a race. I drive a very solid race. You stick the car in the wall (+15s), reverse back for your pitstop(+5s), spin on the final corner (+8s) and still beat me by 2 seconds. That is the reason for this BOP. Otherwise I will eventually migrate to car x.

If you are to take a significant error as + 4 seconds, in your typical 40 lap race (1.5 minute lap). If the car that has that error is .1s faster per lap, than the chasing car, that race is a photo finish :)
In an ideal world if you can get them all to within .25s / 1.5 minute lap it means your average spin or off costing 10 seconds looses you a position. It should also mean the variable of the tracks themselves mean car a is faster one week and car b the next. Eventually these BoP ballast/restrictor will become fairly static. We were nearing that point with the rss cars, but no there are more in the mix and here we are.
BoP is part and parcel of GT3 racing. Unlike say F1 which is essentially a constructors championship.

Counter point, I finished third, if that BoP would be applied to me that would be... devastating. I am not that fast, I just got lucky that the car was extremely stable and easy to smash around many corners. Plus I've been throwing almost all generations of cars at Laguna Seca recently. The last race' performance is far from indicative of my skill level Ernie!

Obviously not as simplistic as I first thought, you can add and subtract BOP from the driver. A car is stuck with it.

So you get handicapped for driving a car that wins with a fast driver in it.
Personally “ mostly “ I don’t pick for winning, I pick for liking or not liking a car and especially if the setup works.

But after reading the above I can see it creating a forever multiple types of arguments. ( that would be a never ending , a none win situations ).

So in the end I can see the complexity of actually applying it.

I still don’t think it works at all, no one wants to drive the RSR 911, everyone goes for the Corvette,

No one BOPS the Toyota lmp1 even though once you get to grips with the MGU application, the Audi does not stand a chance unless you go to Le Mans..
Personally I like driving the diesel., so I will always go for the Audi.
And actually enjoy the challenge of trying to close the gap. Which is mostly impossible.

I have been left standing by the Toyota, with the same difference of speed to a GT3 I have just passed.

So no conclusion.:(

I don't think this is accurate? I think plenty of people still pick the 911. The BoP system came into existence when we started racing with the RSS GT cars that turned out to be lovely but had some differences. That BoP was setup on a test server where a lot of people did a lot of laps which definitely helps.

Vehicle based BoP works great in real life as the GT scene has shown. BTCC also has a vehicle BoP but does do a driver BoP as well to spice up the races which too works quite well.

Interesting discussion. I don't think the system is that good now. I'll give an example of this. Let's assume a very fast driver drives every race with the same car that everyone knows is the slowest, and wins every time because he is by far the best driver. Where does this lead us?
