GT Sport Build 1.16 Update Released.jpg

Polyphony Digital have released hotfix 1.16 for Gran Turismo Sport, fixing a variety of issues that have arisen since the recent big 1.15 release.

Following a bit of a minor mishap where PlayStation 4 gamers were forced to download a mammoth 24gb patch archive just to access the new GT Sport update, Polyphony Digital and Sony have addressed this little slipup and now made available build 1.16 as a standalone download, coming in at a much more sensible 107MB and containing just a few minor fixes to issues that cropped up post 1.15 update late last week.

Sony advise gamers who are in the process of downloading the original major patch to cancel the process, with further attempts now linking just the originally intended 107MB download that relates to the latest fixes, of which can be viewed below.

Of the highlights from the new build, one of the most noticeable is a fix for the compatibility issues around the use of the Thrustmaster TS00RS post 1.15 build. The popular wheel should now return to full functionality as was the case before the early April update, however players may need to reconfigure the wheel if problems with button allocation of control still exist following the update.

You can check out the full 1.16 changelog below:

Steering Controller
  • Fixed an issue where the Thrustmaster® T500RS became unusable in the 1.15 Update.
Sound
  • Fixed an issue where operating sounds, and sound effects such as tire screeching noise would sometimes stop working while playing.
Sports Mode / Lobby
  • Fixed an issue where the car is not displayed properly during pit stops.
  • Fixed an issue where the playback feature was disabled while spectating.

Other minor corrections and adjustments have been performed.

The PS4 Patch distribution uses the SIE differential patch distribution service, but we have found that this patch is currently set in the system to re-download all patches.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

GT Sport is available exclusively for Sony PlayStation 4.
