What caused Andy Black to have a disappointing season as being a title contender?
The cause of Black's disappointing results was a furious rivalry.

Saidy breaks the German pole streak
In what pretty much was a one lap qualifying Rami Saidy has taken his first pole of the season, ahead of Kederer. As rain started to fall midway during the first runs, noone was able to improve after that, resulting in some surprises. Néron in 4th being one of them, as well as Utzer in 8th, who failed to get in the top 6 for the first time this year. Diehl in 5th with his best result since the Australian GP, and Lintner in 6th once again beating his teammate.

"You have qualified ahead of your rival, but you're 18th. What do you expect for your team?"
My teammate impresses my team with a Top 16 qualy position, but this qualy is not what I wanted. We expect anything to be better soon.

"Is Magny-Cours one of your favourite F1 tracks?"
I consider this good track to be that. I remember my great and memorable victory in 1996 which I couldn't expect that I would with that unbelievable Ligier JS43. That Prost JS45 was won by my former teammate but the car was a disappointing half for me back in 1997.

"Thanks Andy"
Thank you

Hunsley masters tricky conditions
Reigning champion Jack Hunsley has taken his first win driving for Jordan, in what was an extremely tricky race. As drivers returned from the formation lap rain started to fall on parts of the track. It didn't affect the start though, Saidy kept the lead ahead of Kederer and Hunsley, while Diehl and Néron swapped places. Pile-up in the braking zone for Adelaide hairpin, Black crashing in the back of Engberink, who in consequence crashed in Buurlage. All of them could continue, but had to pit for new wings. Black lost a lap in the pits, as he first had to wait for Buurlage's stop to be finished, then there also were some problems when changing his frontwing.
Diehl then running wide in turn 3, maybe as a result of the track getting wetter. Foro retired in lap 4 with a gearbox failure, as well as Poirier with a water leak. Conditions kept getting worse, which meant that around lap 10 everyone pitted for wet tyres. Hunsley got past Kederer and went on chasing Saidy. Another gearbox failure in lap 14, Diehl now out of the race as well. The conditions got worse with every lap, which meant that almost everyone pitted again for monsoon tyres around lap 20.
Due to the different strategies it was Said leading Rautavaara in lap 26, followed by Wolf and Ancevski. Saidy was in 5th, while Hunsley and Kederer dropped to 7th and 8th. Around lap 30 most of the leading group pitted, and Saidy could get back in the lead. Hunsley was in 2nd right behind him, with Kederer a bit further back in 4th. Néron, Lintner and Utzer in 4th to 6th, and Said now in 7th after his stop. Saidy's race came to an abrupt end in lap 38 when a puncture forced him to retire. Next round of stops in lap 40, this time they were scheduled for a change. Top 4 now were Said, Rautavaara, Wolf and McNamara, who were all running on different strategies.
After those 4 made their final stops around lap 55, it was Hunsley back in the lead, followed by Kederer. Rautavaara in 3rd ahead of his teammate Néron, with Lintner in 5th and Utzer in 6th. Said only in 7th, as problems with refueling cost him some important seconds. In lap 59 Lintner crashed out, throwing away a possible points finish. At the front Rautavaara made use of his fresh tyres, first passing Kederer, then quickly closing the gap to Hunsley. However he wasn't fast enough to get him in the end. A bit further down Wolf was driving with an incredible pace, getting up from 9th to 5th place.

FIA Press Conference
@Jack Hunsley: First win for your new team, how difficult was this one, with so much rain pouring down?
@Joel: Incredible drive starting from 19th, was the alternative strategy key to this result?
@William Néron: Do you think you could have taken the win if you were on the same strategy as your teammate?

Could be worse, no buys.

"Andy, you were 16th and last in the race, and you're the only one who has been lapped in the race. How much disappointing is this?"

It's totally disappointing if both of us doesn't finish the next races at all, or if my teammate or me doesn't finish. We have 2 higher race BHP than Prost and BAR - but they have a higher qualy BHP and higher qualy and race skill than us. Also our CoF is lower than Prost and BAR so no worries if we get an engine or transmission failure, or a water leak.

@Jack Hunsley: First win for your new team, how difficult was this one, with so much rain pouring down?

It was difficult of course no denying that but the rain certainly helped even out the difference between us and the Williams. But really proud that we've managed to achieve our goal of winning before Silverstone, it was a great team effort all round and has been what we've been building towards all season so far,

For the immediate future we'll have to see how we go at the next few races before seeing if we've a shot at the title.

+5 Quali BHP (hopefully my maths is right, must be about 6 seasons since I've bought BHP :roflmao:)
+10 Quali Skill

This is a serious issue now, frustrating to say the least. I can quali the car, I can finish the car, but only if I am at or more than a lap down. Seriously needs looking at from the team, I can't see why this would happen.
+1 race HP
+25 race skill

 Double points!? Let's go...

I don't think the strategy had anything to do with this. I'm just wayyy too good at racing
