Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

Before we go to the longer Fat-Alfie tracks as an intermezzo now a partly city partly road track in Russia.
Togliatti named after an Italian communist but has also other ties to that country for having the car factory where the from 1971 on Fiats under the name of Lada were produced.

We're driving the version without the chicanes in the long straight to have the Renault and Abarths to be more competitive.

Attention: extra skins made by Hank Belane now available via the link below

First of all the racing gods were definitely against me
Han was on fire, he drove brilliantly.
The circuit was against me.
I was against me.
The racing gods didn’t like many drivers here.
How I managed 4th is a mystery.
I managed to collect a few on my “many” pit exits, so very sorry for that.

Thanks everyone for racing. It’s nice to win but I have to apologise to you all. My plan was to have an easy track between the two Fat Alfie tracks but it didn’t work out that way. I tested this track a while ago with the Mazda and rated it as relatively easy but now in the race, when you try to drive as fast as possible every lap, it’s very difficult not to make a mistake. The kerbs were deadly and in the Suzuki the two fast corners only needed a little bit of lift so it was very difficult not to hit the wall. So a track that required precision and good concentration. I was soaked with sweat afterwards.

But I still enjoyed myself. The track has a bug though, as we discovered. If you go to the pits that lap doesn’t count so that was especially bad for Ernie who had damage (puncture?) and had to pit again because he came back with qualifying settings. Great that he still finished fourth.

Next week Thomson Road. Server 1 is ready for practice. Server 2 is now running Bremgarten for the 3rd race in the championship.

Congratulations to Jari and especially to Jose for his first podium finish

BTW: Many thanks @H_Belane for the livery of my winning car!!! Your aerodynamic painting increased my top speed a lot!

The lap does count but on a weird way I think(maybe to do with the <1s sector one). I pitted twice(forgot to put fuel on the setup I had) and did not lose any lap. Maybe dependent on what lane you take on the pit lane?

I do think you lost laps seeing the results (see number of laps):

hmm, could be indeed. or maybe you're underestimating how slow 🐌I was and how often I ended up facing the wrong way(Ricardo already explained the grabby walls). What's more weird than the laps is how can it be that my total race time was less than an hour? I was even the one who crossed the line last(I'm sure of that and jose was in front on me at the time, so I'm missing around 2 mins time on that table)
I also did accidentally reset to the pits on the last lap. (I relaxed on my hands exiting the last corner and touched the button )

anyway, spooky track it seems

Yes, very well done Jose, I have noticed how much more consistent you are driving and getting good results.

I couldn't make it last night as I am moving my rig but I did a few laps on the track in the Abarth. With no damping available it was like a pogo stick in the corners and I went off several times in a couple of laps so looks like I did the right thing.
See you next time at Thomspn road but if you want some open wheeler action in an ever so easy car to drive AND with a fixed set up sign up for tonight's race now!

Han cannot do much about the Clio, but replaced its tyres with the Mazda cup tyres, drives much much better
i also have a setup.
Thanks Ernie. Can you share it in this thread? I will arrange that the Clio can use the Mazda tyres also.

Thanks everybody. I was surprised by the results, but the race goods Ernie mentioned were aligned with me.
As always two races the one on the front with the people 3/4 sec faster and the one on the back, where I enjoy sometimes fighting with Ricardo, Paulo and Kimi.
Ricardo and Paulo selected the wrong car and it was clear this penaliced them. Kimi gave up... So I found my self after the 4 faster people. Adam had also problems, and he overtake me 3 or 4 times after several crashes but finally he gave up. I saw Ernie on the mirror coming with Han, the Jimmy informed me, blue flag... I let them pass but I see Ernie position is still 7th...So...only Han and Jari in front of me, and voila.
I feel I am improving but not as much to be in the podium in a "normal" race. I will enjoy fighting with Ricardo, Paulo and the ones in the "second race".... That is fun.
Thanks all, because I learn every day. I really enjoy these races and the environmental, so clean fights, people helping and sharing knowledge. I still have the message Bouke sent me the first time I drove in Assen... He was explained the track in such a detailed way... Uff.
Not sure if I will be able to race next week as I have a problem in the connection of the base, I sent it to someone to try to fix it but still not feedback.
Thanks Han to take the effort to o ganice all those races.

Jose, you will love the newly tyre shod car it is so much better to drive.
It will be interesting to see where you are with it.
From my short run at that infamous circuit with it, it is not exactly going to be as competitive as the Mazda or any of the others, maybe ?? , but you can certainly keep up with most in it.
It will be interesting to see were it comes on fat Alfie circuits it has good top speed, that may be affected by its new tyres size !!!
I will post the setup, there is not much you can change , but it is stable, so you will be able to de stabilise it to make it turn better.
