The name is generic , used for the same reasons they probably used it

that was obviously not a ferrari but still not generic at all , but i wasn't refering to them particlarly but when you see what formulas are getting into AC is mostly ferraris:

Ferrari 642 1990

Ferrari 2004

Besides the hybrid, all of RSS's mods are very heavily based on real cars and are therefore not very generic at all...

Sure, but in those series all the cars run the same chassis, so you will end up with something resembling the original without going into to much detail (from what I understand). The RSS79 was built to resemble the Lotus of course. In F1 the chassis all look slightly different, so one can mix and match and create a generic.
