The Chrysler Viper GTS-R chassis GTSR-C44 used during the Spa 24h 2005 with the team Didier de Radigues in G2 category.

What kind of bop can make a GT1 car to match the pace in GT2?

I don't know and the car didn't raced in GT2, but in G2, that's a category dedicated to cars which came from national GT championship.

But the G2 category is set for cars in the pace GT2 regulation like the 996 GT3-R

It's more complicated than this. The 996 GT3-R should be in N-GT/GT2. But yes there were some GT3-R in G2. Even an other Viper GTS-R in 2003 and M3 GTR in 2004. There was also a 996 Bi-Turbo. Honestly I don't know It is maybe a mix of specific car that they were no more homologated to be in GT1 or GT2.
I mean there were 996 GT3-R from 1999 in G2 at the same time there were GT3-RS and GT3-RSR in GT2 class.
