Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

For the third race of the Fat-Alfie championship 2024 we're moving to Switzerland.

Cars first raced at Bremgarten in 1934. The 7.3 km long track wound along Swiss forest roads, there were hardly any real straight sections. Trees hung over the circuit, which was even paved with cobblestones here and there. The last corner before the start/finish straight is one of the most difficult corners on all the circuits and where you can gain or lose a lot of time. A serious test for cars and drivers.

SPECIAL ATTENTION: in this race the Renault Clio 5 Cup 1.3 is introduced in the FWD class as an alternative for the Abarth/Suzuki. You have to install it even if you drive another car otherwise you can't join the event. See the event details where to find the mod. The Renault 5 is only available with the V80 vintage tyres.

Exciting race. Especially later when the three different cars were very close to each other at the top. Unfortunately, a fault with my steering wheel sent me into a fence. Would have liked to see how it would have turned out Thomas. I thought for 45 minutes "What is his plan?" :cautious:

Congratulations to Allan. I think for you it would have been enough to win with three pit stops today.

Great and exciting as always!

This was quite fun actually...

Practiced with the new @Wubbo Stel a lot of laps, to get things going. Tried both the Abarth 500 and the mx5, and fine-tuned in the mx5 ofcourse.

Made me a decent setup and focussed on not dying in practice sessions. After finding the limits the hard way, I finally managed to do so. Tried my best to redo my offline PB on the server because I was friggin' proud of it (28.8) but got to 29.0 on the server.

I slowly built up my practice hour today, not overdoing too much. Went pretty okay. Did a decent progressing qually after that and got me a nice 6th place in the grid, second mazda. Thomas was unbeatable in the mazda today again.

Race start was pretty smooth, passed the great leader, but chose not to kill us in T1 and back to 6th again just shadowing Abarths, picking up Allan, who was facing the wrong way (still winning the race later, great pace man!). No f#ck-ups from my side this time, even made a nice pass on Paul, just to shift back one gear too much in the next to trade positions again going up the long uphill straight in the back. The entire race was in close range of Paul (in front or behind) and Iwas constantly doing positive self-talk to stay focussed and not crash.

After pitting still in the Paul-range, when in lap 21 Han and Paul collided, I could avoid crashing into Paul, but Han spun back in the middle of the road so I crashed into the side of his little shopping trolley. D#mn, still had some margin to Collin, managed to turn the car and get back on the race again. With Paul ofcourse

Kept it going 'till the end, last lap all or nothing, but not fast enough to close the gap completely. And I was clear enough to remind myself NOT to crash this time and it worked. Happy with P6 in the end and pretty okay consistency and more important: no major bang for me the time, even when driving close to the limit at decent pace, so happy with that!

Congrats to the masters on the podium, you guys are unbeatable, no matter what car you're in. Thanks Han for doing this week after week.

Welcome again to the new guys: Fred and Wubbo, great driving mates!

First win in the Renault, what a race..Making a nice gap leading for 6 laps when disaster struck.Caught the grass, back end stepped out ,spins mayhem. My apologies to who got caught up in it,i just sat there hoping everyone could pass..So i was in last place over 30 secs behind, uphill battle commencing and what a battle..Once this thing opens up its lungs its off, cornering another matter lol,but once you get to know how to throw it into a corner bit of a slide its fuuun..Great racing guys, shame Hank had issues,Thomas was hot as usual, but this time i pipped you..:p:p..So thats moved me up into 3rd from 6th,maybe choosing this Froggy thing might just be paying off..Until the next 1 guys...

Yes, nice racing Bouke and I had to do a lot of defensive driving to keep you at bay.
I made one mistake late in the race, Han caught me and contact was made, not sure quite what happened but it all kicked off and then it was a battle with Bouke ....again.
Thanks Han for setting this series up, always good fun and a really good grid to add to the excitement. Well done podium and Allan on getting the Renault to the finish in P1.

For anyone who going to visit the ADAC Simexpo in Dortmund this weekend: on Saturday my son Enzo will be at the Trak Racer stand representing Heusinkveld. He will be available to answer questions and helping with the simulators to try out Heusinkveld products.

Great racing Hank, I had a blast doing this one. At start and seeing qualy times I never thought I could stay near, but I managed to get the slipstream on the long straights and could stay close. Never tried to get out of slipstream and try an overtake as the Mazda just lacks the power on the straights. So first plan was to stay behind close but you made no big mistake so there was no chance. Later I thought I will do an undercut, see were we meet after your stop. Was crazy situation as Allan and you came out of pits at same time and I could get Allan, avoid an overlapped car by just a fraction and could do the pass after T1 as I had so much more straight speed. Thought with a little luck I can stay in front but as Allan flew by with the Renault rocket I had to lift so much before the corners being close behind him so you could get me again and fly by on the straight as well. Shame you had your wheel issue, think I would have had no chance as MX5 just lacks the power on the straight.
Great driving, was fun!

Great racing Allan, I guess it's hard to go for 1 hour in the Renault. The MX5 was just lacking the horsepower here actually (compared to the other cars), I am totally happy with pace and result, after looking at qualy times and the fly bys at the straight the lack of horse power was just too obvious, but a race is long so that's most times a different story. That situation after your and Hanks stop was, let's say, interesting:)
Was good fun.

i was impressed with everyone last night, some of us had a big advantage with this track after spending an hour running a difficult car around this circuit the night before.
So to drive cars that actually points at a corner made it easy for some of us.
A special well done to Allan in his difficult to handle missile around here, i really expected him to struggle to keep it on the track, i could see how difficult it was following Kimi, so well done Allan.:)
And commiserations to Han, who did not have the advantage of racing the BP tornado last night, so he was not on his usual form.
Good race for me, some setbacks but overall a lot of luck, so pleased about that.:)

A race to forget quickly. The first part was alright moving up to first because of mistakes of the cars in front and I could hold that until the last 8 laps. Under pressure of Ernie I made my first big mistake, followed by many others so I tumbled to 12th in the end. Congrats to the winners. Great driving from @Wubbo Stel and @gwabakk as new guys in this field of experienced drivers. That looks promising for the future of these two.

The voting of Track of the Month ended in the winner Black Cat County long". Here is the thread:

I hope to see you all on this challenging track next week!

A bit of a lonely race for me this one. Being the only one in the Slowzuki I had it coming of course.
Very consistent, no mistakes, but not horsepower to actually be any threat to anyone.
Qualified last, no surprise there, knew I could get a few positions if I remained constant and so I did. 3 to be precise so that was better than expected.

Typical slow start which allowed me to fly past all the carnage of the first laps except for Allan a few laps later, who I rammed quite hard - I hope you ended up pointing in the right direction but I had barely any time to react and nowhere to go coming out of a blind corner.
Rest of the race was just collecting people that decided to go for a picnic here and there only to see them fly past on the straight after 1 or 2 laps.
Welcome to the new guys and congrats everyone on the excellent driving. Skill level is raising every week, it's getting hard to keep up!

See you on the next one!
- Ricardo
