Tatuus F3 T-318 Fashion Show.jpg

F3 at Norisring is a great and classic combo, but how about we reward something different. This is the Race Department FASHION SHOW. There are great liveries, and some great photoshop artists, but apart from an occasional comment or different colouration, fun liveries are not really shown off or praised enough. In the fashion show, the grid for each race will be set by AWESOMENESS of livery on your car. The better the livery, the higher your grid slot. Time to create something fancy.

Eligibility: You must be a PREMIUM member. You must also use your REAL NAME on all RD servers and Discord, and include this in your forum profile. It is the only way of identifying who you are during an event.

You can find the template for this car at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Templates\Tatuus_F3_T318_car.psd

Other info about making skins for rFactor 2 can be found here.

How to create a Car Skin that everyone will see on the server
  • Open rFactor 2
  • Join the Practice Server
  • Select the car you wish to create a skin on
  • Click on "Customize" in the car menu
  • At the top of the screen, click on the + (Create Car)
  • Click on "Create Skin Folder". This should write a location in the "Folder" area above the button. Something like "Tatuus_F3_T318_2018\WSK TECHNO1AEBFD68"
    • This is the location of the folder you need to navigate to. The skins you make must be saved into this folder to work on this car.
  • Exit/Tab out of rFactor 2, and navigate to your Steam Folder
  • rFactor 2 > UserData > Player > Settings. In this folder, navigate down to the car's folder and follow the route given to you by the "Folder" section after you clicked Create Skin Folder.
  • Inside this folder, you will find three/four files: alt.dds, alt.json, alt.mas, alt_region.dds
    • These are the basic files you need to replace to make the new skin.
  • In another window, navigate to rFactor 2 > Templates. If you are lucky, a template for the car you wish to paint will be in there. Open it up and start painting.
  • Once you have painted a skin, you will want to test it out in the game to see how it all works on the car. Save your file as a .dds file into the folder with alt.dds. It is important that you save it as a different name. Begin the file name with alt, but put something else after it. Something like "alt_epic.dds", "altjim43livery.dds". When saving another file, such as the region, you will need to use the same prefix for it, such as "alt_epic_region.dds". By saving it with a unique name, there is no chance of someone else turning up with the same name in the same car and overwriting your livery when they join the server,
  • Tab back into the "Customize" area of rFactor 2. Click the "Reload Skin" button and navigate to the skin you have just created.
  • Admire your work on the car. Go back into Photoshop/GIMP/Photopea/Paint and adjust until you are happy.
    • There may be extra files you can paint, which aren't on the templates or exported in the skin folder. These may involve navigating into the MAS files of the cars to export any extra .dds files that include rear wings, Windows, Halo, Extra aero kits etc. This is something you'll have to see on a car-to-car basis.
  • Once you have finished the alt_x.dds files and anything else such as regions or extra parts, you may have to put them all in a Mas file so the game registers it all as one livery, rather than a lot of differently named alt files.
    • rFactor 2 > Support > Tools > MAS2.exe. Add all the files you require for the new car (Including a .json file if it is there, but do not include any .mas files) to this, and save it in the Skin Folder with the same name as the full name. If your main skin is "alt_x.dds", save this as "alt_x.mas".
  • Place the .mas file in the skin folder, and make sure to remove all other files with the same prefix from the folder. Put them in another folder.
  • Go back into the game, reload the skin on the car, adjust the region colours and textures.
  • Leave the server selection before you actually load in.
  • Test the car offline until you are happy with it.
  • Once the livery is finished, go online with it! Congratulations, your beautiful new creation is visible to everyone else!

Yes. The Epsilon Program logo. I used to host a couple of seasons of TEPCOTT (The Epsilon Program Championship Of The Truth) with around 60-100 other people. We did serious racing in GTA, which is in fact a thing. Then I gave the discord server to some other guys who continued with the series. Season 7 starting right now :)

Oh, and KIFFLOM brother-brother!
It all started with this thread in a forum: https://nodo.freeforums.net/thread/10213/completed-pc-tepcott-season-1

I have two liveries for these cars, and need to choose one to add a bit more detail to. I am posting clues to their inspiration, rather than a screenshot. Which one of these do you reckon I should go for?
