I find it very interesting that they did not support the DD1/DD2 with the QR2, or am I mistaken? As a DD1 owner is very disappointing.

DD1/2 extension would be much more difficult. Would require a new shaft insert for the base (more difficult for end user to install) along with the actual extension. The DD is much easier with the extension for the end user to install, less chance of end user breaking their base.......
Also, seeming like Fanatec is concentrating on the low to mid segment with their current tier of products, not the high end (no Podium pedals, DD1/2 have been sold out for some time with no eta of restock..........

I find mine long enough without shaft extension. Could even fit some cool dials in between.

Mine is "ok" too, but would like to option to move it farther back if I could with my Motion setup incoming like many do with the Simucube. Oh well.
