F1 24 tyres in F1 23 - Experience F1 24 tyres on F1 23!

Since F1 24 came out in Beta, I've been intrigued to experience how F1 24 tyres would react in F1 23 - after all, it's mostly changed values... But I never got into sorting the remaining issues out once I got my first taste of that...
Finally, I decided to have a go at it, and here you go - proper F1 24 tyres on F1 23 are now available.

INSTALLATION:
  • Extract content from the "Mod" folder in the archive to the base game folder.
  • If you want to return to original tyres, "Original"...

Mantas Jokubauskas updated F1 24 tyres in F1 23 with a new update entry:

Update 0.2

Not a very big patch - worked a bit on tyrewear. I increased all tyre wear values by 4x. Should improve tyre wear on track at least.
Keep in mind that I have noticed that rear tyres were wearing out more - maybe something to look out for.
On a separate note, I tried adjusting the temperature values for at least some of the tyres but I was not satisfied, so I left the previous (current) ones.

Hey can you make a mod where I can put F1 2022 engine sounds in F1 2023??
I asked here coz your post was the most recent hence thought you would be actice for f1 23 mods

There are 2 files with this mod, which one should we install?, i installed the mod one but I noticed that the AI is super slow, I'm playing it at 110% difficulty and I'm having over 25 seconds gap from the driver behind, is there a way maybe to increase the AI performance more? Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm able to do much here. AI seems to not be able to handle the extra grip well (probably due to AI training) and there aren't any specific values (AFAIK) that could help with AI handling the tyres better.

As for versions - Original is just the original file (for restoring backup). I thought it was self-explanatory.

Many thanks sir!
In F1 23, I play at the wheel in elite mode (no help at all). Reacceleration was a problem, because even with a slight pressure on the accelerator pedal, it was not uncommon to spin out. Now with your Mod, it's fixed! Mind you, it still skids if you press too hard, but it's controllable and consistent, a real pleasure :)))
Not only does it correct F1 23's problems with acceleration, but it also compensates for the AI crashes mod that deteriorates tires too quickly. All in all, it's a perfect balance.
I can't yet say whether used alone, the ranges of operation and deterioration are within the norms, but used in conjunction with the other mod mentioned above, it seems quite correct, as the image shows. The AI is set to 70 for 35% races, and I haven't noticed any speed boost - if there is any, it's minimal with this reduced level of AI.
Now, F1 23 is perfect (for me).

I'd like to give you some additional feedback, because I said that wear was normal with the AI crashes mod, which isn't quite true, it's still a bit low. It's just so we can discuss tire wear.
Here's a table that I believe comes from Codemasters in relation to the game (I no longer have the source, sorry)

Tyre type
Nb laps
Temp range in C°
C1 very hard30110 – 140
C2 hard (white)21110 – 135
C3 medium (yellow)18105 – 135
C4 soft (red)1390 - 120
C5 ultra soft?85 - 115

I don't know if it's still current, but it's to give an idea of the laps per type of tire. I don't know how worn a tire has to be to say whether it needs changing or not, but beyond 50% wear, it becomes very complicated. We could say that this is the tire's normal service life.

So, as you can see from the picture below, my C3 mediums are about 6% worn by lap 10, so I should finish the race without changing them, which is obviously not true if I go by the previous table.

What do you think? What are the real lifespan values in the game?

I'd like to point out that your mod is fabulous, it saved my game, because in terms of grip, it's perfect.

Thank you for feedback! With some AI mods, this may work better - unsure about the mix and match here though, sorry. I am really unsure whether I can do something from my side regarding AI.
The tyre wear is a difficult subject. I already increased the original wear from F1 24 tyres, multiplying that value by 4 IIRC. Of course, one needs to remember that in F1 24 tyres work a little bit differently, tyre wear is more dependant on the track combo and how the car works, etc. However in general, the tyre wear in F1 24 isn't that high also (though it's inconsistant). I might release another update with even more increased tyrewear, we shall see. I don't want to overdo it, of course, because of AI.
As for temps, it is difficult to set up - current values have been tweaked so that the tyres wouldn't heat up too much (because of certain settings missing in F1 23 regarding to temps). I tried tweaking the numbers to get the temps even higher while pushing, but I think I pushed the value too much and tyres just started overheating. The current value should be good enough for most tracks, but it needs testing on tracks with overheating issues like Hungary, for example.

Thanks for your feedback.
I can put myself in your shoes, it must be hard to manage to set tire wear and temperature data by trial and error, because Codemasters hasn't explained how it's all handled in the game. We're not even sure what influence tire temperature and wear have on grip, whether they're handled gradually or all at once, as conditions can improve or deteriorate from one lap to the next.

On top of that, I've just discovered that you can't really rely on tire color from one race to the next; a C3 tire can be defined as white for one circuit and red for another. (source) Which means we don't know how many laps a yellow tire, which may be a C2 or C4 depending on the circuit, will last.

Anyway, I thank you again for your efforts, and even if you say it doesn't change grip, it has undeniably changed, I don't know why, maybe the combination of several factors.

Mantas Jokubauskas updated F1 24 tyres in F1 23 with a new update entry:

Tyre wear fixes and Pressure Sim changes

So, last time I posted this, I changed a few values to increase the tyre wear, though it didn't actually increase that much. So, as I went back now, I discovered that I'm actually stupid and tyre wear rates are also controlled by some values in Pressure Simulation... And those were not changed. Which meant that on track the tyre wear was still minimal. LOL. The more you learn I guess.

  • Actually fixed the tyre wear - the wear rate from original file is increased by 4x still.
    Now...

Okay, so I went back to check on this mod, and while checking through values, I discovered that I only changed one value for tyre wear - tyre wear is also dictated on track by Pressure Simulation, which has separate values for tyre wear simulation... Ouch.
So now I actually properly increased the tyre wear. Values are somewhat similar to F1 23 values for now.
Also adjusted Pressures themselves - since F1 23 pressure sim is different, I just used values from original tyres - now it seems tyres are much more responsive to pressure changes and you pretty much need to run higher pressures on some tracks to compensate for tyre temperatures to avoid overheating.
AI is still an issue, though...
