kboss submitted a new resource:

F1 1986 Enhancement Mod - Adds realism enhancements to PedroXIII's 1986 mod.

Welcome to my first release of the F1 1986 Enhancement Mod.

I'm adding some realism enhancements to PedroXIII's mod.

WIP!

The first release adds the correct amount of gears, and gives better ratios for the player and the AI:

5 Gears:
McLaren
Tyrrell
Minardi
Ligier

6 Gears:
Williams
Lotus
Haas Lola
Arrows
Benetton
Ferrari

7 Gears:
Brabham

Please note, I've only fixed the gears for the first two races of the year, Brazil and Jerez.

Really cool. I need to install the 1986 Mod again.

It’s a lot of fun. Just got rev lights working as well!

0.02 should come out this week with gear and ratio fixes for Imola and Monaco.

It will also include a fix that makes gear shift lights functional!

I have tested on a few cars but not all yet. Works on Lotus, McLaren, Benetton, Arrows and Minardi.

kboss updated F1 1986 Enhancement Mod with a new update entry:

0.02 Update

Rev lights in the cockpit now work on all cars at all tracks!

We now have corrected gear ratios and amounts at the following tracks:

• Brazil
• Jerez
• Imola

Next release will include Monaco gears, corrected car sound for Benetton (it had a V10 instead of a V6 turbo), and fixes for Senna and Dumfries’ helmets (John Player was misspelled on forehead on both).

Some things I’m looking into at the moment for future releases include database performance accuracy, starting fuel amounts (3 lap races start with +2 or 3 laps sometimes), the flickering in the cockpit view under the steering wheel.

Second driver cockpits no longer glitchy (thanks Thang Nguyen!)
Senna and Dumfries' helmets no longer have John Player misspelled above the visor
Benetton sound changed from a V10 to a V6 turbo

Released too soon. Both cars have the first driver’s livery and number. Working on it..
