F1 22 ERS lights on the rear wing ..working or not?

So when watching a real F1 race I notice when the cars set off on the formation lap (and other times during the race) that the lights at the back of the cars flash..the square one in the middle and the ones on the rear wing. However I am not seeing this in game.
The lights are there as I can see them on the wing but they do not flash.

I thought that they show when the car in front is harvesting ERS energy. If that is the case NO cars in my game are doing that.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case or am i just out of touch with whats supposed to be happening.
