Editing .CAM file has no effect?

Hi all, I wanted to somehow change the seating position in the cockpit view of GTR evo to be further forward than most cars allow.

After some searching on the forum I think I understand how to edit the .CAM file to affect the changes I want, but after editing it, there seems to be no change in game...

BTW; I'm trying to edit the .cam files for the GTR2forGTRevo addon. the location of the file I've been editing is:
crogramfiles/steam/steamapps/race07/gamedata/teams/gtr2/gt/ferrari 575/ferrari_575.cam

here is the section that i believe controls the cockpit cam:

I changed the last value in the"positionoffset" line to be -0.55 instead of 0.000000, and the position of the camera in cockpit view hasn't changed at all. anyone know why this might be?
am I editing the wrong place? doing it incorrectly? - or maybe there is a way to increase the adjustability of the "seat position"?

any help would be great, thanks a million guys

Cockpit is handled in a different manner to the other views. You need to edit the .inccar file and adjust the following:

Eyepoint=(0.353, 0.56, 0.36)
CameraTarget=(0.000, 0.65, 0.15)

FYI, editing either the .cam and .inccar will cause online mismatches
