digitalvei updated DV Driver - Driver Model with up to 120 Fictional Skins with a new update entry:

New gloves texture

Changelog :
  • Updated the glove texture to have leather like texture and reflection
  • The default suit skin is black instead of "dv_white_red"
If you prefer the old version, just rename it to something else, example dv_driver_old.kn5

Awesome mod! I am having trouble using the crew skins for the driver model. I followed the instructions and added a "dv_driver" folder inside "/content/texture/driver_suit" and my skin.ini file is as follows:

[dv_driver]
SUIT=\dv_driver\dv_black_red
GLOVES=\
HELMET=\HELMET_BASE_red\3

[CREW]
SUIT=\dv_black_red
HELMET=\red
BRAND=\

If I were to use the other driver suit textures it works, just not the files from the dv_crew mod. Am I misunderstanding something? Are the crew suits not compatible with the driver model?

Could be few issues, let me try to picture it,
  • did you copy the contents from the pit crew folder? the "dv_black_red" folder must be inside the "../content/texture/driver_suit/"
  • If it's there then nothing's wrong so far for the folder contents. Have you replaced the line in the driver3d.ini inside the data folder?
  • if you don't have the data folder, use the following line and put it in "ext_config.ini" inside your car's "extension" folder, if there's no extension folder, create it and make a new text file and rename it inti "ext_config.ini". Here's the code to put in ext_config.ini :

    Code:
    ;=============DV DRIVER===========
    [DRIVER3D_MODEL]
    NAME=dv_driver
    POSITION=0.0,0.0,0.0

    [DRIVER3D_HIDE_OBJECT_0]
    NAME=DRIVER:HELMET

    [DRIVER3D_HIDE_OBJECT_1]
    NAME=DRIVER:GEO_Driver_FACE

    ;===========END DV DRIVER===========

Thanks for the quick reply! I was able to get it to work after trying once more, I checked everything as you suggested, but the key thing I found I was missing was the actual data folder in each car needed to be unpacked via Content Manager so that I can modify the driver3d.ini file and then repack the folder into its data.acd file.

The cars using the dv_driver skins are now being correctly scanned according to CM. For anyone else who might be stuck like I was I highly recommend reading this post to learn how to activate developer mode and unpack car data.

Everything is working perfectly now!

No worries, also the safest way to apply the skin without altering the data folder is by using the code that I post earlier. That way you won't risk on getting kicked from online servers just because they think you're modifying other stuff like the car's performance.

If I wanted a different helmet,the kn5 would have to be edited right?(the model itself)
I got it to use my crew skin I created but the helmet is the wrong era.
I created some gloves for my lolipop man but for the car driver the seams were misaligned.

I may just go ahead and make a driver 60 skin from scratch.

Thanks man.
