DiRT 2.0 Monte Update.jpg

DiRT Rally 2.0 has been updated today, and now includes the Monte Carlo Rally.

Having received the first new rally location since releasing on PC and console back on February 29th, DiRT Rally 2.0 by Codemasters has also had a small update applied to the title as the development team look to respond to the wave of feedback received since first shipping out the much awaiting sequel to the impressive DiRT Rally of 2015.

Of course new content is often likely to take the headlines, and even though Monte Carlo is a returning location from the original title, much work has been undertaken by Codemasters to bring the rally up to the new standards both graphically and technologically. Featuring graphically enhanced stages (as can be seen in the Monte Carlo Rally previews here) and the latest stage deformation features that have come to DiRT Rally 2.0, the "new" event should hopefully offer a suitably changed experience to make it a worthwhile experiences for players of the earlier title.

Update 1.2.1 Notes
  • My Team Special Events issues fixed
  • We've fixed not receiving input from unofficial devices (without re-connecting the device after press start)
  • Special liveries and Monte Carlo Rally unlocked for Deluxe Edition players on Steam. These will unlock for PlayStation and Xbox players at midnight local time
Ok, we have to admit that isn't exactly an overwhelming amount of changes that Codemasters have brought with the new build, however it has been stated by the developer that they are continuing to listen to community feedback as they develop further enhancements for the game. Some of the most vocal feedback has been around the FFB implementation within the title, and Codemasters have confirmed they have acknowledged this complaint, and are continuing to investigate possible solutions that they hope to release in the near future.

DiRT Rally 2.0 is available for PC and console now.

Oh come on.. or should I say - thanks for contributing?
Rally drivers don't see the enviroment through fixed camera lense. That's the problem.
There's no problem for me, Argentina is one of the funniest tracks in the game. Stop complaining and drive.

I mean, tarmac physics are completely ****ed up and you're complaining about the bumpiness of argentina which only adds fun to the game.

No it's not real. For some reason, Australia to me is worse than Argentina in that jumpiness. Sometimes you have very little car control on those stages in game, because the wheels are in the air, or using the ground as ramp for the next jump.
Having this kind of jumps in Australia, it's only possible if the surface is like this:

Which it isn't in Australian stages, or at least isn't represented visually.

Icy tarmac sections in this new stage feels much more unpredictable than in DR1. I don't remember DR1 to be that unpredictable. The car is now suddendly changing direction.
That's actually fairly realistic, if they really made different surfaces that different (yet to test it myself), one side on tarmac, another on snow/ice would lead to "sudden" change of direction.

The new physics in Monte Carlo make me really looking forward to the Swedish stages that appear in 4 weeks time...
Even though I remember most of the stages from DR1 they feel so different in DR2 - well done Codies!

What I like the most about Monte Carlo in DR2.0 is that you have a choice of tyres. Which will lead to some potentially ways to set up an RDRC event:)

So you complain about the tarmac physics, which are totally fine for me and tell people not to complain:O_o:

Argentina/the visual bumps are the bigger problem IMO and if CM doesn't reduce them significantly, it will be just a vomit-simulator in VR.

Yeah need for speed tarmac physics are ok for me too, for an arcade game.

Have you drive RBR, Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo, Assetto Corsa Rally mod or a car in real life? If you did, then you must be crazy to tell me Dirt Rally 2.0 tarmac physics are ok.

Search on youtube for spain stage videos, and look at the comments.

I agree about tarmac physics being weird, but I wouldn't rely on rbr tarmac physics. Well, we have our beloved racing sims for that, and the discussion about "which sim has the physics bestest" is going on for ages, decades now :p
That's also what I'm curious about Rally Monte Carlo (stil yet to test myself) as the physics of cars at Spain reminded me of driving the car with loose steering column or rack.

So i'm crazy because i don't agree with your:poop:
People like you are the reason, i'm not that often on this site. Too much BS comments and useless opinions without any proof or evidence, just based on how x,y feels in other games. I drive very similar like in this video and i don't care if people like you have a problem with it.
Just learn how to drive instead of complaining.

But on your video there's no useful information, sorry man. There are only outside view, no inputs.
To me the most concerning thing is car reacting on steering input with some delay - like this is not a tarmac, but some mud or snow, but other behaviour suggests there's more grip.
Even D4 tarmac handling felt better, at least it felt less floaty. Still it felt quite liveless, but that's more the stage/surface modelling issue.

Now tell the driver to powerslide everycorner at 200km/h like in this video, that's ridiculous. He would sure end up in a tree!

Look at how grippy the car is IRL, just like in RBR, Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo and Assetto Corsa.
