Codemasters have revealed the full car list set to feature in DiRT Rally 2.0 when it releases this February.

The full 50 strong list of vehicles for DR2.0 contain some very impressive manufacturers indeed, featuring a nice mix of historic and modern machines alongside of course the official 2018 FIA World Rallycross category within the game - no less than 12 different Rallycross cars across multiple classes of the series will be present in the title at launch.

As well as the full car list confirmation below, players purchasing the Deluxe Edition or the Day One Edition will also receive the Porsche 911 RGT, with the car then becoming a separate DLC 60 days after the game launches. Furthermore, Codemasters have confirmed additional "seasonal" content will be added to the sim at a later date.

WRC 7 has all the latest cars and official stages if that's your thing. I quite like it as a game. WRC 8 will be along in about September time too for the latest updates. V Rally 4 having a few WRC cars doesn't surprise me as it's also made by Kylotonn - have you played it though...hmm, not the V Rally I remember.

Personally though I'm not worried about any of these issues. Dirt Rally was a great game, I liked DiRT 4 faults and all and I hope 2.0 will also be a great game in its own way.

I guess The Crew 2 and Forza Horizon 4, both being open world games in one country, couldn't be accidentally confused with the WRC championship, despite having actual cars (the C3 is Meeke's car with WRC branding).

Dirt Rally 2.0 though has some actual WRC locations and so adding cars from the WRC would make it much closer to the real thing.

Although it's nice to think back to Colin McRae Rally 1 and the stages and cars contained in that:

Pretty underwhelming list to say the least. Only six different vehicles than Dirt 4. And if they threw some money they could have gotten the Fiesta and the C3 WRCs for sure.
Where do you get that number from?
I count 16 new cars, that weren't in DiRT 4

  1. Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4
  2. Audi S1 EKS RX quattro
  3. Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R
  4. Citroen C3 R5
  5. Citroen DS 21
  6. Datsun 240Z
  7. Ford Escort Mk II (it's a different model than in DR and D4)
  8. Ford Fiesta Rallycross (MK8)
  9. Ford Mustang GT4
  10. Peugeot 208 R2
  11. Porsche 911 (997) R-GT
  12. Renault Megane RS RX
  13. ŠKODA Fabia R5
  14. Subaru WRX STI Rallycross
  15. Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V
  16. Volkswagen Polo GTI R5
Even if you discount the ones, that are just variations of existing cars, like the 208 R2, that would still make 10 new cars

I had some fun with Dirt Rally. The Force Feedback wasn´t so good compared to other sims and regarding the physics it was a little bit lame. No comaprision to Richrd Burns Rally. If these things are getting better, i couldn´t care less about the missing WRC cars.

Sorry that Codies doesn't know how to do market research. They managed to purchase the only studio that was able to consistently create a good rally game (Evolution Studios) outside of CMR, and instead of using them to bolster Dirt, they made them create a game that flopped in less than a week...

that

plus: they have us talking about their product which is all that counts from a marketer's pov, "no vr no buy" or "no wrc no buy" don't even register on their radar i guess.

As an AVID sim racer/Rally driver(R.B. superfan), I thought Dirt Rally was good really. And I was looking forward more/some better things in this new Dirt rally 2.0, seeing ALL the work put into the Driving, the physics, and the co-driver, and Track improvements. But Kinda thinkin they would Not have WRC cars because they would have licensing problems.(coz it would be much better than the official game...LOL). But after seeing the car list, and thinking a bit............Why can they NOT use WRC cars from Dirt Rally and other past games theyhave made, because they must have got a way to include the cars Then(eg Hyundai i20wrc in 1st Dirt Rally)?? And also, when the first Dirt Rally was out, myself and LOADS of others were SCREAMING for extra Country/Track packs for DLC(would have PAID)....but Noooo. We would have had WRC cars and more tracks, and they would have made MORE money. And now they're doing more country/tracks, but disappoint AGAIN with NO WRC cars at all??? STILL doesn't feel like they're listening to what WE want from the a Rally game. Marketing skills like my driving skills. hahahahah
