AC CLASSIC Fat-Alfie Championship, Round 2 of 6 - Bremgarten, Tue 7th November 2023

Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

This week it's round 2 of 6 in the classic car Fat-Alfie's championship. We're at high speed Bremgarten, Switzerland. A high velocity track with of course some killing corners and tricky bends.

The Circuit Bremgarten was a 7.280 km (4.524 mi) motosport race track in Bern, Switzerland, which formerly hosted the Swiss Grand Prix from 1933 to 1954 (Formula One, 1947 to 1954) and the Swiss motorcycle Grand Prix in 1949 and from 1951 until 1954.

The circuit itself had no true straight, instead being a collection of high-speed corners. From the outset, Bremgarten's tree-lined roads, often poor light conditions and changes in road surface made for what was acknowledged to be a very dangerous circuit, especially in the wet.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS is essential for clean and respectful driving in our community. You should therefore use tools like Helicorsa or CarRadar and CrewChief. The links for these apps are on the bottom of this post.

• Password: standard password, if you don't know that, ask for it in this thread and it will be send in a PM.
• 20:00 CET, 19:00 BST (18:00 UTC) | 60 minutes - Official Practice
• 21:05 CET, 20:05 BST (19:05 UTC) | 20 minutes - Qualification
• 21:30 CET, 20:30 BST (19:30 UTC) | 60 minutes
• Practice server available during the week.
• Same password as usual

• Track Road temperature: 30 Celsius
• Track grip: 100%
• Track limits: No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please. You will be penalized if you break this rule.
• Damage: 10%
• Fuel Consumption: 100%
• Tyre wear: 100%
• Pitstop: Mandatory (at least 1 litre of fuel).

It's worth getting to know these cars better.
I saw a Ford waiting for me on a public Nordschleife track day server and thought I'd do a lap. I beat my PB, which I probably set up years ago, by 35 seconds...

Well, there's one good thing. Escorts setups appear to be fine for all the future circuits. Thompson was the only difficult one. Now, all i have to do is hang on to the damn thing

For me this is more difficult than Thomson, go figure... I think the happy tail of the Escort doesn't fit the fast corners so well - at least when I'm driving

There are a few corners here that totally dictate your lap time, unfortunately I cannot take advantage of that with a car that has a turn in dictated by a horoscope rather than turning the steering wheel.

My shoulder is still hurting and on top of that I got two vaccinations in both arms recently which makes driving rather painful now.

I had first time issues as well Hank, first off, i could not get my discord to work properly, not showing anyone. Then i could not join the server, turned out there was now two servers running and luck was on my side and managed to get in after quali started. Never happened before

Thanks for the race everyone. I nearly scraped on the podium but a messy out lap saw Paul just get out of the pits before me. Still pleased not to have too many incidents. Congrats to the podium.
