MOD Installation.
To join this event, you need to download the custom mod above. Both track (install first) and MOD (install second) MUST be installed to join the server.

Notes:

1. Chatting of any kind during Qualifying and the Race is strictly prohibited in the chat. There is no need to say sorry/thanks/pitting/leaving pits/etc. Anything that needs to be said can wait until after the session.
2. If you feel you were wronged in any way during an event and wish to report the incident, simply send the event organiser a private message. Please include a description of the incident along with a video. If you are unable to create a video, please include details such as who was involved and where the incident happened with a timestamp. Do not post reports/accusations in the thread itself - negativity and anger gets us nowhere.
3. We encourage all our drivers to use Teamspeak 3, download here. Talking directly to your fellow drivers increases the fun and the ability to share information in an easy friendly way. It will improve your driving skills dramatically, Log in here
4. Please take into account that rFactor 2 is still in beta stage and that technical problems might occur. If you spot a bug please post a (constructive) report in the dedicated bug forum here.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what to do with the 8.14 kb file that I download from the links. It seems to be the same file from both links. When placed in My Documents\rFactor2\Packages\, rFactor install sees it but won't install it. Pardon my ignorance. I'm still trying to figure out more about rFactor2.

I corrected the download link for the track. Made a mistake there, sorry.

Download both of the links. 1 of 8Kb, and the track file (65mb). First install the track (Untick the Show Mods Only option in the OPTION menu to see it), and when you have installed the track, the small mod can be installed.

Then join the server

Thanks, Marco. Do we need to download and install the track if it's already installed from the last attempt?

Edit: I'm not having any luck getting this working this time. In my packages folder I have:
RDClub.rfmod
Snetterton300.rfcmp
RD Classic @ Snetterton.rfmod

Mod manager says I can't install the last item. Within game I can choose RDClub mod and race F2s at Snetterton 300. I've got the previous download of Snett and the current one. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

After a few laps, 2:23's :eek: so slow!

Jim if you can't get it running; delete track and mod from your Packages folder, unzip the track to Packages and run the launcher to install it. Then[!] download the mod file and put it in Packages.

Thanks, Dennis. However, when I right click Snetterton300 and choose "Uninstall" I get a message box that says:
"Snetterton300 1.1 is currently in use by 1 mods and cannot be deleted. Use Properties/Advanced Info to see which mods use this component." I then right click Snetterton300 and choose Properties and click the button for Advanced Info. This reveals a box with no text in it, where I presume it should be telling me what mods are currently using it.

Jim,

You probably have the MOD RD Club Racing installed. (look at the file location displayed in the mod manager, which should en with rdclub.rfmod.
Uninstall that one first

Then go to the track, and uninstall Snetterton 1.1
Delete the file from the package folder
Download (or unpack if you alreday downlaoded it) the 0.71 version (the offline version which is on the forum)
Install that one

Now the RD Classic @ Snetterton should be able to install.

One of the things I am pretty sure we will encounter, is an issue with Snetterton.

Those who have downloaded and installed the first online mod for RD, now have Snetterton version 1.1 installed. This needs to be removed before the 0.71 version can be installed. To do so, follow the following steps:

- Open the MOD manager
- UN tick the Show Mods Only option in the OPTIONS menu in top.
- Right click on Snetterton v1.1, and select uninstall
- Open your windows explorer
- Go to the game folder of rFactor2 (c:\documents and settings\player name\rfactor2\
- Remove the file Snetterton.rfcmp from the packages folder
- go 1 folder back up again, and enter the folder MANIFESTS
- Remove the Snetterton.mft file
- go 1 folder back up again, and enter the folder Installed. THen enter the folder rFm
- Remove the Snetterton.mas file
- Go 1 folder back up, and remove the Snetterton folder when present

Now place the downloaded version of Snetterton in the packages folder, and open the mod manager. When UNticking the Show Mods Only box, Snetterton300 should be there with version 0.71. Install that one, and you are done.

Just noticed the server dropped out of the matchmaker from ISI. I restarted it, so it's back up again.

There are no official signups yet, but I know some already have tried the mod, and had some practice. Would like to hear if all went well, installing wise, but also server stability and stuff.

We went to a lot of trouble finding out how this new system actually works. I believe we have it covered now, after litteraly hours and hours of trying and perfecting. I hope the signups will soon start coming again. It's such a shame not to use this fantastic game

I thought I installed the track and mod correctly but evidently not. I don't think I ever had the 1.1 track. The 0.71 track is listed and the mod can only be uninstalled so it should be a done deal but not.

OK, I just went thru the "remove Snetterton 1.1 routine. I didn't find any of the files mentioned but finished the process. Looking for the RD event online, not present!

Thanks for the detailed instructions, Marco. I can now race the F3s at Snetterton300 offline. I also went to look for the server online and only saw the RD server for the Megane event.

Can anyone check if it is back up again? I will keep an eye out on the server today. It was again in status Could not connect to matchmaker. Not something we can do anything about at this moment. The matchmaker service is an ISI thing. I have been online, and when I reset the server, it connects to the system again.

Will keep an eye out to make sure it stays available. Really strange. Will look at ISI forum later today to see if others have this as well.
