As @jlnprssnr says Chromecast isn't for games but if your projector has HDMI inputs then I don't see why not for YT, etc.

Steamlink is on sale on Amazon dirt cheap now. The latency when I stream gameplay even when I'm on Wireless LAN is very minimal. Maybe you can give it a shot.
