The LHD shifting animation is not working, too many files to keep track of with 3 different versions I forgot the driver ini file differs too. Just a cosmetic thing.
LHD and Clamshell versions are under the RHD version in launcher.
Tyre pressures are set realistic. They depend on tyre and
weight of the car. Default values in setup menu are for road use and pressures as well (16-18psi to preference for comfort, some people even drive it on 14psi etc. because they forget to check, Caterham recommends around 22-24psi), if you want to race it for time then you have to adjust things as you would on a real car. Someone sets 28psi+ on your Caterham in tyre shop, never go there again
Autoblip and autoshift etc. I've used myself when driving vs AI and it should work fine I didn't have any problems. As always let us know, the previous versions was really provisional, I don't even remember what was in it exactly. I will try read here more often now and Ben will collect some feedback.
As far as Force Feedback goes, I've set it as high as possible as to not clip it. It should stay in telemetry between -1 and 1 for most driving situations except crashes. There is nothing else we can do about force feedback quality, strength etc. it's all up to AC and your hardware+software setup used for FF. There is only 1 value a multiplier and that's it, it adjusts strengths so it's not too strong to clip or too weak. A more skilled drivers I know who have driven the prerelease of course say the FF is rather bland and hard to feel and that goes for all AC really not just this mod. Car is also for road and set soft dampers wise etc. it should be fine to drive even on the bumpiest of roads such as mod tracks, Semetin for example. Of course a rock solid dampers and springs would make you feel more tiny details theoretically. Otherwise the suspension is as accurate as we can get it without laser measuring the car. Ben did crawl around one and measured it, tons of photo references and then matched with found data. This is quite an old Caterham and you won't see this front suspension in particular very often. Most Caterhams have a newer one with different lower arm angle and especially the front upper arm is an A but this is how Ben's Cat had it, just half an arm and front ARB. It is not missing part of upper A arm it really was like this.
FAQ:
- Gear ratios are realistic, it is that high spaced on the lower gears with 5 speed. The ratios are taken, converted to gear fractions and then back to more precise values for AC.
- 620R will be made, the engine is no problem I have that already figured out and tested, dyno data collected as well for pressure, total power etc. Model wise it's up to Ben, what he makes I will make the data for it. Once the Academy is made it's really mostly swapping engines, tuning aero and springs/dampers. It's one similar car data wise.
UnFAQ:
- if you want to help, neither one of us is a sound engineer so a sound is always welcome, we have to spare some time from doing other things to make a sound
If you want some technical details, let me know, I have quite about almost all of it.
Bugs found, report to Ben, he will let me know what physics bugs there are.
