PRACTICE SERVER IS UP!

Footnote:

With huge thanks to @Ben O'Bro for this amazing work :inlove: - when you go to download.. you'll see a comment re lost info from Ben and the problems he came across, but I assure you the car is an absolute blast, and ready to go!.

Foibles such as tyre temps not showing (properly) don't detract from the mod and the std setup is 'safe' though I've attached a setup below that has less understeer (personal preference warning!). Playing with the diff really changes the car's behaviour.

Any other contributions are appreciated - general tips are more than welcome if you don't want to give your darkest secrets (a setup!):p

A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you have to check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.

When entering the track from the pits, stay off the racing line until you are up to speed. Do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by. On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in teamspeak & server. Not doing so WILL result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

Can I also enter please John? Apologies for my absence last race, I ended up re-installing AC as I couldn't get to the bottom of the flickering in a reasonable time

No worries Scott, I know the feeling! Had to do a Steam verification-thingy last night, no idea why but it kept freezing - pc was locked and nothing worked.

On a brighter note, you're in! ;)

I'll give it a go please John. @Medilloni :)

It sort of appeals to everyone this car, sound like a race car, easy to handle, difficult to get the best from it, great fun, allows a lot of latitude with its handling, not much to setup, great view from the driving seat, see all the apex's, perfectly quick enough for this tight circuit. could go on and on, unfortunately the waffle police are outside my flat, got to go.

Excellent review Ernie! Sounds like you're got it sorted more than I have, esp from seeing your time just now:confused: Curious, did you use the 6 or 5 gear option?

You're in Chris, welcome... and just realised, your avatar might give a clue you like Caterhams:laugh:

Yep although mine was a fake Caterham, a "Locost" kit car I built myself with a bike engine and live rear axle, originally Fireblade (hence the username) but latterly with a Yamaha R1. Still, 420kgs and 160bhp wasn't too shabby on track, used to obliterate most Elises and show up anything this side of a genuine R400 Caterham.
