Not all the cars have pit limiter for example the older F1 cars like Formula classic do not have pit limiters so nothing happens when you push the button.

I havent tested pitlimiters in AMS2 - but like you describe it then getting a penality could be realistic.
When pitting you first have to manually get the speed under the limit before crossing the pit markings.
Because the limiter does only keep the speed from not crossing the limit if the speed is allready lowered to under the limit.

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: Thats how it works in RL

But why would pre 94 cars have pit limiters? Pretty sure it's meant to be like that, not just because it's a beta.
True, but some of those cars also didn't have the same restrictions in the pit lanes so there was no need for such devices. If you're running a class that didn't have pit lane speed limits, perhaps the limit should be removed in AMS 2 to prevent penalties being applied? Or maybe the penalties are already disabled for those cars... I haven't actually tested it.

Yeah, that was the one thing I was going to say, regarding no pit limiter, but then club races with glorified road going cars cope OK with no pit limiter, presumably just self control. It might have to be per series as to whether a pit limit, rather than per car or track. Go Karts don't have pit limiters, last time I checked either.

Fun fact:
when you drive down the pit lane with limiter on, let's say in first gear and you hit the limit, shift up to second gear and
you will get a penalty, because the speed limit was exceeded ever so slightly from upshifting.

Happened to me in the F1-V10 and the Roco :p
Don't know whether this is intended (or 'real') behaviour, but then it is also not that hard to circumvent.

Use to happen in R3E as well, except all you had to do was sit on the limiter at full revs in 1st gear. Your speed would eventually jump 1mph over and boom... penalty. Took them bloody ages to fix it.

I too had some out lane penalties in the formula classic cars. I can appreciate the realism here for the era but when I pressed the button the HUD said it was in so it was pretty frustrating to get a penalty. Hopefully these little things will be ironed out.

I don't know why, with the old F1 cars, in automatic Pit stop mode, I slow down on entering the pits, my car accelerates and goes straight. I see my team that is ready but my car brakes troptard and I have to get out of the wells without changing tires or petrol?
