Hello all! I created a retro rally simcade recently, but sales have been mediocre. I guess this was kinda to be expected, as the game looks very arcade, so I think the people who like arcade games are disappointed by the serious physics, while the simracing fans just glance over this game without realizing it may appeal to them.
So I figured I should post about it here
The buggies have a proper pacejka tyre model, load transfer, a torque curve, a viscous + limited slip differential (which one depending on car 'setup', there's 9 setups), all the works. The only thing that's simplified is the suspension, since the tracks are pretty much flat (though there's macro- and micro variations in friction).
Because of the fast corners of the tracks, it plays best with gamepad, though steering wheels are supported (my friend actually prefers wheels so I guess it's a matter of taste anyway)
I hope you like it, it's on sale right now because of Steam racefest, so it's just about 2 $
Available on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1780450
And on Itch: https://properlydecent.itch.io/buggy-game
Thanks for checking it out! I think I will make a successor on day that has normal 3D graphics. I think that probably has broader appeal. Still, I'm very happy and proud with the result and at least I like to play it myself so I got that going for me
