Application Templates for Blender allow re-use of configuration and contents, which is perfect for those that often have the same workflow and don't want to fiddle in the menus first before being able to actually start working on their project.

These rF2 Studio Application Templates are made for the rFactor2 modders with their very own requirements. But these templates do work well for other purposes and can also be modified very easy to each individuals liking and requirements.

Small changes to init script and removing userpref

This is the second alpha with some minor changes. Please head over to the github page to also download the car and track specific templates if you like.

Changelog​

  • The userpref.blend file was removed to support full fallback to the user's default settings.
  • The __init__.py init script does now load some suggested plug-ins and serves as the better compromise to using the "userpref.blend" file...

The v0.3-alpha now comes with some small but nice changes/additions:

  • The startup.blend files for the car and track templates were updated to include sample or helper objects.
  • The splash.png for the studio template was finally redone.

Please, read the description in the original post again; It is a template for Blender, focusing on car creation in rF2. As with all templates, it's a starting point and you still have to create (read: model) the complete car, its physics (not with Blender), and bring it in the game (also not with Blender directly) on your own ;)

Ah, ok then this template would be of no help. Of course, you can convert a car model into a format that Blender can read, get the UV layout and export, import that layout into GIMP and create a new template for the car. New shading/AO can also be created with Blender. However, all this is a complete different story :roflmao:
