Binned A Win

No one likes it, but it has happened to everyone. You have a win in hand, a lap or 2 left and you completely hose a corner or something and the win flies off into the distance.

For me, today I was in a race at Zandvoort. Qualified 1st, got a bad start ended up 3rd. No big deal, the race is an hour long. Started chasing and making headway. The person in 1st was fast, but I knew over time I would catch the car. I got past the 2nd place car, but they didn't give up without a fight.

I went to the pits, got some new spatz and it was show time. I chased and chased. Three laps left. A 6 second lead had been reduced to .256. Two laps left. Time to end 1st place driver's misery. Next to the last turn into the long straight, I clipped the curb and spun the car!!
I am ready to have a seizure. I got the car straightened out.

But by this time, 1st place is off into the distance. Luckily, we both were far enough in front that I was able to finish 2nd. I still can't believe it.

Tell me you have done the same.
