Beautiful skies mod part 1 - GTR2 high resolution sky mod

I have created new sky mod based on a well known HD skies mod but with vastly improved texture resolution and other improvements. Now the skies will be rendered in 8K resolution as this is required in order for them to not look pixelated. The end result are the most beautiful skies for GTR2 ever done. This represents a major milestone in upgrading game graphics and its a standalone mod intended to be used with a future game remaster mod.​

Those are great skies. Do they really have to 300MB+? I'm surprised they have to be that big.

Actually total size for all regions is close to 1GB. And yes 8K resolution will do that, no way of getting around this.

These look for the most great. Minimal banding, some areas could use some smoothing, good quality/ compression relation, nice cloud variation. Some areas could be more vibrant for my taste. The only thing that bothers me, wich is also an almost permanent issue concerning sky textures, is the depiction of the sun, which for a game with dynamic sun rendering can result in some peculiar situations.
