Welcome to the official support thread of the Bash Pro Active H-Shifter.

The Bash Pro Active H-Shifter is the first active sim racing shifter using a gate locking feature powered by real time in-game telemetry data.

Features

Above the standard features an H-shifter offers, the Bash Pro features tactile feedback when a gear is engaged. Whenever gear engagement conditions are not met, the gate remains in a closed state, which physically prevents you from moving the gearstick into gear. Upon every gear change, a servo motor actuates a trigger mechanism that releases the gate lock in the matter of a few milliseconds.

Operating Modes

Using the OLED screen on the Bash Pro or our custom Simhub plugin, you can easily switch between H-Dogbox, H-Sync and Sequential Electronic shifting.

Training Modes for different gear ratios

The Bash Pro features a training mode to memorize gear ratios for each car in the different games.

Truck Simulator Mode

The Bash Pro will change into Truck mode on starting Euro Truck Simulator or American Truck Simulator. Depending on the type of gearbox selected in the game, the Shifter will not allow moving the stick into non-existing gear positions. ‘Floating gears’ or shifting without clutch is possible when ‘Advanced’ H-Shifter mode is selected in the game options menu.

Testing

The Bash Pro is currently being used for track training at Goodwood Motor Circuit in the UK and can also be tested on Saturdays at MVHStudios directly.

Is the shift pattern programmable, so that one could have a Porsche pattern for one car and then switch to, say, a more standard pattern for a Ford?

Hi. This is Marton, creator of the Bash pro.
Currently the shifter is programmed with 2 gear layouts. Standard and dogleg (1st gear at lower left).
You don't need to change your button assignments when changing layouts. Button 1 is always gear 1, etc. The shifter communicates with the Bash Simhub plugin. Whenever you select a non-standard the gear layout for a car, that will be remembered by the plugin. You can view its status or change layouts on the Car settings page.
Upon user request, we can add more layouts or even new functions. The only thing you need to update for features added in the future is the Bash Simhub plugin. We listen to user requests and adapt them quickly.

Hello Everyone,

Today we released an update to the BASH Active shifter SimHub plugin.
There are some really interesting quality of life changes.

V24.10.22
- "Max Gears" SimHub property is now used for all games other than LFS.
- In Dogbox and H-Sync (untrained) modes, shifting into non-existent gears is now prevented.
- In H-Sync mode, when "Quick mode" and "H-Sync is Strict" options are both selected, "Strict" condition is now stronger. Pressing the clutch late won't open the gate immediately anymore.
- During training, selecting non-existent gears is no longer required for games other than LFS.

Wow, such a great design.
Also love how compact it is.
Price seems reasonable for the research that went in it, and the tech that comes with it.

Very high on my wish list.
Would like to know how durable it is in the long run.
If it's possible to service the device with off the shelf parts.

Hi. Thank you for the kind words. We put a lot of effort into designing this shifter. We spent years in beta tesing, making changes where it was needed, based on user feedback, since 2020. It is very durable. It can run years without servicing, depending on how tough of a beating it gets.
Even if there is an occasional servicing needed, we cover everything in warranty, be it a replacement part, or an adjustment that the user can do themselves. We provide video guides when the user decides to open up the shifter for servicing, or send a replacement unit otherwise. There are a few custom made parts in it, but most of the parts can be sourced off the shelf. We take care of warranty even for older units. We don't leave anyone behind. :)
