Automobilista 2 V1.3.6.0 Release Candidate Now Available

Bruno whats up with those pics? what is that from? Whenever I see some one eat it in motorcycle race, so long as they just slide, they seem ok. If they hit anything else, it is a different story. It makes you wonder if street riders wore the same pads and gear if it would keep them from some of the injuries? Do you guy think the update will come out on the 5 or later?

Honestly I dont think this crash ended even near fatal. Because the video ended shortly after my last pic. But the ending frames of the video did show the driver landing on his back and sliding with arms out to balance the slide. Conscious obvious.
These MC guys has balls. ;)

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: Personally I have been driving FF1600 when I was young. But when I before and after that have been driving different fast MC on roads I never dared to take corners even remotely near the way these real MC riders dare.

Honestly I have never done that.
And the few times where I have build a setup up from default (to compare) then my old setups have allway been just as fast or faster ;)
But almost everybody else does mandatory repeat the same mantra: Delete all old setups efter an update.:roflmao:

do we really have to wipe out again all of our setups for the mentioned cars?
I have just upped my rather good TT laptime on Silverstone by half a sec using the exact same setup as before the upd.

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: Personally I think a lot of peoples bad experiences is plain placebo.
Not joking - because more or less all scientific research does show that placebo works.

So I got the update and was blown away. It is better than I had even hoped. I dropped about .5 on Spa and get the sense that a tighter setup would allow me to drop into the 2.18s. Got a 2.19.32 in the GT3 AMG and was loving it. I did have a problem in multi player where it seemed the tires reverted back to the previous model? I dont know..I am about to delete my setup folder and start from scratch. This is really why I never get too crazy with setups. Of course it is a small price to pay for what you get. Just wondering if any of you have deleted you set up folders?

I've only wiped my folder once, I always just go into the setups in-game and and hit reset default.
I didn't once, with the lancer and had hardly any ffb, was disconnected and was sliding through every corner, so for shits and giggles I put on wets and was able to run them for a 20 min race in the dry/sunny with 42c track temps and was 2 secs faster a lap than everyone in the lobby.
The tires barely turned yellow, peaked at 93c drifting through corners and hardly had any wear.

Another bug I've recently discovered. If you go into advanced tuning, every time you click the default reset button, the on screen tire temps drop 1c

Maybe it sounds like Im very stubborn or just make laughs about people who mandatory delete almost everything in their AMS2 install after an update (im slightly exaggerating here :D) - but my own explanation of the fact that I have NEVER had any issues keeping the old setups is....

Yes is that I only drive very very few of the different AMS2 cars - so probably I have not been hit by this issue.
I only drive the 2-3 high powered formula cars (F-Reiza and F-Ulti and ??) and beside of that all the US-Cart formula cars. Which in my oppinion is more or less the same 3x basic cars with just a few tweaks of physics.

Oh man I just saw this.:D
Wasnt it possible for you to keep this "advantage bug" in your install?
No ofcourse not - but that could have been great.
I would love to have found such a "bug" and then secretly used it in all the TT LBs:roflmao:

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: Guess if I would have reported this to Reizas bug thread? :roflmao:

So, I just went out and gave a good try at making some setups with the AMG and dropped 1.1 at Bathurst. FYI, I also reset my setups as the new update makes them not of much use and I had heard that it can mess with the car. The GT3s all felt better. I would say they put an increase in grip with the stiffer tires and it really ads a level of control that was not in the game before. More than anything it really just seems that you can have confidence to attack corners in a way that you dared not before. As much as I am a GT3 driver, I have to say that the big winner is the GTEs. If you have not given them a spin, the next time you load up take them out. The corvette especially feels like you are driving a real freaking race car. All of them were awesome but the corvette, which before I would say had a sliddy sort feel that reminded me more of an open wheel car than the others. I am not sure any of them really need much work. Perhaps dialing in the new effect to really fit each car and its real life characteristics. And balancing is something that can always be better. Do you guys think they should reset TT to see where the cars are now?

At least for me in the car series I use reset of my TT time doesnt matter.
Because as said above Im (way) faster now after the latest update. :whistling:

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: If just Reiza would have listened to the community advices to just simple ad display of the date of the TT record the problem about the mandatory Reset the TT LB lists - was solved.
Raceroom have had this from stone age ;)

Before I was banned from the Reiza forum I posted this proposal several times - but to no awail.:(
But without patronizing Reiza then how hard can it be to slightly change LB menu?
5-10 minutes work :roflmao:

i messed up making a profile for the Reiza forum but honestly I like this community anyways and chatting about the game is lots of fun. I watched Steelcast interview with Renato Simioni and you can tell he is passionate about sim driving but it wears on him with everyone always throwing ideas at them all the time. I guess that is the one downside to listening to feed back is people will start thinking they have a big say in what happens. For myself, I think they have been moving forward and the game is already better than any other so whatever we get from here forward is icing on the cake. I do have my fingers crossed with some more cars coming to popular classes so hopefully the game will hit that point where it gets rolling and players who are looking for something different will make AMS2 there go to. But even if that dont happen, it is still a good game and community and that is all it needs to be for me.

So just did some more racing and to just give some feed back. The AMG is good, please dont do anything to it..It is great. The GT3 Porsche felt a little strange. I am not an expert on that car but it seems like it could use a little detailing. Have heard some people saying the 720 is a bit off. The P1, at least the V6 felt great and all of the GTE should not be messed with and GT1 is good. What I am afraid of is them rolling this back or changing it on cars it works for. What I am picking up is the cars that have the most grip gain the most from the new tire model. Or at least you can feel the detail more. It really should not be a surprise that some cars will need a little fine tuning to get them right but they have been doing such a good job that Im sure they will do a great job. Also think this will be great with the open wheels too.

I guess the priorities are elsewhere, tho, I really doubt its only 5-10 minutes of work. If it would, image, how much you could do in a day/week? Simple looking things often are not simply done in dev world. But, still, I agree that work on UI/UX is a bit slow, but is it because of the madness engine or not having dedicated developer on UI/UX, or just simply thinking that such things are not the things that is important to average player? Can only guess.

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: Saying that they are choosing to not pay 10 minutes of they'r work day to implement such an easy thing sounds a bit condescending.

From my understanding, all the cars updated, just had the stiffer tire carcass implemented and they will go through and fine tune each car.

The new tire update does feel better but they still need alot of work on some of them.

Hehe no reason to make a discussion of this to something about 5-10 or 6-11 minutes :D
I was mainly humorously ironic because it irritates/annoys me a bit that they probably dont care.
Because I know a few things about how to build menus in mainly front ends of databases - so...

If it sounds "a bit condescending" then come on my good man.:)
Reiza dont read this and if somebody does feel such a condescending thing then its solely on anothers (Reizas) behalf. Or because we are not allowed to make a bit fun with such a "minor" thing.
