Kunos Simulazioni have released the new Tripl3 DLC package and the latest update for the PC version of Assetto Corsa, bringing the sim to version 1.8 and adding a free car and historic circuit to the game.

Update wise, version 1.8 includes many fixes and optimisations for Assetto Corsa, most noticeable of which is the work that has gone on under the hood of the software to increase performance of the title while at the same time adding significant improvements to the reflections and shadows in game. Version 10 tyres have also been added to the LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Pagani Huayra, BMW M3 GT2, Ferrari 458 GT2, Corvette C7R, Ferrari 599XX, Ferrari FXXK and Pagani Zonda R. Initially it was hoped the GT3 class would receive Version 10 tyres to compliment the Red Pack DLC cars already running the new technology, however it appears the change in the new tyre model for GT3's hasn’t quite made it into this update.

Players should also find the Artificial Intelligence in game now respond better to contact between each other and the player, as Kunos have worked on the collision logic between AI and player, resulting in "slower reaction after an impact, for more realistic collisions".

Other highlights of todays update include:

Free Content
Assetto Corsa version 1.8 comes with a couple of pieces on new content in the shape of the sports variant to the Audi A1, the Audi S1. Lighter, faster and meaner than its tamer brother, the S1 is the latest little pocket rocket from the German manufacturer. Alongside the S1, Kunos have also released Monza's 1960 10km Sopraelevata circuit, laserscanned to be the most accurate representation of the legendary Italian circuit ever found in a racing simulation, and the first time ever for this track on gaming consoles. Sopraelevata comes in two configurations, Monza 1966 Full Course (Sopraelevata) and Monza 1966 Junior Course. Both the S1 and Sopraelevata come free as part of the version 1.8 update for Assetto Corsa.

Tripl3 DLC
Containing three brand new cars for Assetto Corsa is the new Tripl3 DLC from Kunos. Priced at a reasonable $2.99, the new DLC brings two new cars from the legendary Prancing Horse and a rank outside in the shape of the little know Praga R1. Although always nice to have more Ferrari's, the Praga R1 could well be one of the more interesting items within the Tripl3 DLC. Designed as a "Lightweight, Extreme downforce, Full-carbon, High safety, Low running cost" sports car by Czech car manufacturer Praga Racing, the R1 kicks out 210bhp from a Renault Sport Formula 2010 2.0 engine. At only 592kg, the Praga R1 is a full-carbon track car designed around a composite monocoque and loosely based on WEC LMP1 prototype style vehicle. This should make for a very interesting addition to the sim, and is personally one I am very much looking forward to trying out on track.

The Tripl3 DLC is available to purchase now via Steam for $2.99 and contains:
  • Praga R1
  • Ferrari FXXK
  • Ferrari 488 GTB

Hmm... away from the new cars and track layouts, which I haven't tried as yet, can't say v1.8 added much. Perhaps this should have been 1.7.6 ...

Plus, whatever graphics updates/tweaking Kunos did, I can't see a difference visually, but my frame rate has certainly dropped ... Maxed out I'd get a solid 60fps, with the odd dip to ~55 at certain points on tracks during a race and replays. Now, with v1.8, it's dropping into the mid 40's at times :(

For me no improvement at all, it's worse than the 1.7.
I have big lag on norsh tourist... Before, i never had this issue, i have not tryed another track.
What about you ?

Edit: resolved, the cause was _gbw filter from a weather mod...
With all other filters i have, it's pefect :)

i just bought this, just for support, but will try it, i hope they wont dissapoint me :) lets have sim experience as we are comunity! and guys, please be more friendly on the tracks, this is real thing...

Sigh, Im really not interested in this DLC at all, however I feel Im being forced to buy it, as dont want to be locked out of MP again, getting bit tired of this policy, are we now gonna need a 4th or 5th Nords open day server now?, excited to try 1.8 though, DL now.

Looking at the server list I see GT2 servers with stock content or at most DP1. Then more servers with stock content, including the free one received with 1.8 update. Then a server with just Praga R1 at Spa. A server with stock and dlc GT3s. A server with just the non-dlc toyota gt86. Etc.

So explain to me why are you so worried of this Tripl3 pack dlc when people are using the content only with the tripl3 dlc content itself.

Oh for crying out load QUF, how many gt2 and gt3 in this pack? none you say, so of course they wouldn't be effected, far out man, I said the nords servers, you know where the road cars are commonly driven online, but luckily the several nords servers seem to not be including DLC at moment, which would suck for DLC buyers I guess at moment.

Imagine turning up at nords irl, paying for your trackday and then being told.

"no you cant drive today, there is car on track you dont own sorry, however if you not interested in driving it, you can still pay for it and we will allow you on track, sounds fair?"

Also the GT2 on SPA server has been running like that since day dot, someone has to let them know theres a couple more tracks in AC, same with GT3 servers, been running ruddy red bull ring since red pack, just been on it, full server they thought good idea to skip qualify, I gave up on 4th restart, it seems online quality has been lowered even more since my last try couple of weeks ago.

As for update, after redoing all my controls and re downloading sound mods AGAIN as per usual on every AC update, it seems alright, its not broken anything at least, not tried AI though yet, cars seem a little more planted again and braking even more stable, which Ac really doesnt need, although could be placebo as been playing AMS last few days.

Its seem like the update has given mixed results for a lot of people. For me its better fps wise and has increased by 20-25 fps like others have also stated.but the shadows now seem like someones f**ked something up somewhere and made them worse. another thing is i don't know if its just me but the graphics also seem to look a bit more blurred than usual.kinda like when you go from pp off to on you notice the blur effect around the cars instantly.and since having pp always on for quite some time now. i can definitely see more blur effect straight away when firing up after the update it just doesn't look right/the same as it did before 1.8. So some good and bad effects for me.the cars are the typical excellent kunos standard. The praga is easily the pick of the three for me.it will be interesting to see whats kunos does in the next couple of hotfixes with the mixed feedback coming in from people. hopefully we get v10 tyres for gt3 shortly and not have to wait till the next version. with the ferrari 488 gt3 not having the same tyre model as the rest.does anyone know if the v10 tyres have any benefit performance wise compared to the old ones on the other gt3's?

all GT3 cars including the 488 are on the old tyre version.

In MotoGP, a white flag is used to warn riders of rain.
actually in motogp the white flag indicates that the riders are allowed to change bikes (from dry to rain tyres) this in the case that the race was declared a 'dry race' at start.
rain flag is generally White with a red X, but i have seen red and yellow striped in spain tracks.

sorry @Brandon Wright :( im a MotoGP Geek =d

Was hoping the UI interface would change to something more attractive, the UI is something I really dislike of AC.
Anyway, the 488 GTB is so quick and grippy!! Thanks Kunos!!
there are custom launchers available with diff UI (havent used official launcher in months)

those servers ie; aloog gt2 etc... are easily some of the most popular ones and always have been and are set up with whatever tracks/cars they see fit and for as long as they want.which is fair enough too seeing their the ones paying the bills for them. and yes they do have servers that change combos up on the regular if you just go through the right channels and simply ask some one like andy riches, big baw.... they will more than likely put your requested combo up on one of their servers if its a half decent request. but if you don't like that option then i suggest you drink a cup of cement and harden up mate.and simply go host your own server at your own costs then you can run whatever combos you think people should be running.problem solved

You finally did it Kunos. A DLC that doesn't interest me at all. First one I definitely won't even look at.

My thoughts exactly...
Bought everything up till now. More from the same this dlc, imo
Not planning on testing out the free content that came with 1.8 update
and even that seems 1000 times more intersting than this dlc

ah well, still having loads of fun with the mx5 cup car so couldn't be bothered honestly...

I've lost 6 fps compared with v 1.6.3 (last time i checked)! Down to 56 from 62 with the same settings. Actually, I'm down from 69 average since 1.5.6.

That's with no PP, and pretty much lowest everything which is why I've picked up the ps4 version. Quite a bit cheaper than a new gaming rig.
Sounds weird. We all have had improvement to performance thanks to the sim now utilizing much more of the hardware. Its not a small optimization that is done. Try reinstalling completely fresh alt. delete the AC folder in documents&settings plus verify game cache in steam. Would be weird if you lost FPS. For me it was raised a lot.

To all: Reinstall your game completely even by deleting the Assetto Corsa folder in Documents & Settings if you see no FPS improvement at all. Kunos didnt do a small optimization bandaid they changed how AC make use of the hardware (to get more juice out of them). I could for the first time in years turn on adaptive vsync and i tested with full AI grid which never was 60FPS for me before. Now its completely smooth.

New cars are great. Love the Praga and 488GTB. And to people being somehow let down by 3 quality cars for 3 bucks... Lol. :D There are A LOT of cars coming. No need to be sad guys.

@Prithvi R Shankar Tire model 10 should be closer to where Kunos want them. i.e. closer to the real deal (better and more realistic).
