ACC Update 1.06 Torcano.jpg

Kunos Simulazioni have released a new update for Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Working at a solid pace in order to address some of the more prominent issues that have occurred with Assetto Corsa Competizione since the simulation first hit V1 release status back at the end of May, Kunos Simulazioni have once again deployed the update magic - releasing build 1.06 to Steam a few short hours ago.

Full update notes from the new build can be seen below.

Build 1.06 Update Notes:

  • Fixed a potential crash when resuming career and championship.
  • Added first implementation of blue flags during qualifications.
  • Tweaked MP highlights to avoid unnecessary out-of-track highlights.

  • MFD now correctly shows 0 fuel to add from pit strategy.

  • Pit window message now includes a timer with time left until it closes.
AUDIO:

  • Improved exterior and blow-off valve sounds for Ferrari 488 GT3

Even though there is no mention of performance tweak in relation to VR in this update, I did a practice this morning, nice weather, McLaren at Spa, the driving as usual was superb. The VR was as clear as it as ever been.
I had been previously driving that morning both in RF2 and AC, as expected the photo realistic in ACC was really shining, as it always does for me, but, as it is not always the case, the graphic was also totally clear, no fuzziness, the scenery in the distance was all there.
ACC when it clicks, is quite amazing and makes the other SIM, as pleasant as they are, look dated. This is a great time to be a SIM driver.

there wont be a le mans, because lemans is nothing to do with blancpain GT, GT3 racing or SRO

Not strictly true, because the Le Mans Cup ( Road to Le Mans ) event is combined LMP3 / GT3. Not exactly enough on it's own, though! but more chance than ADAC Nurb 24 which isn't even GT3 at all - SP9 is a different class that overlaps GT3, it has different BoP and open tyres, not that anyone ran anything except Michelin iirc.

Unfortunately other than triple-screen issues which will get fixed with a new UE version, my main issue with ACC is I hate most of the circuits on the BPGT season :S

Then the guys are able to code a simulator like this but couldn't make a table championship to sum up the points? There's some facts in game industry I really don't understand

Neither could they bring the full grid to the track even when they were adamant in simulating the entire Blancpain GT3 Championship to the game they called ACC.

Seriously, running a Spa 24H with 24ish cars? Ridiculous when you know in a few weeks they'll have 72 participants.

@Koen Verlinde can you imagine the bandwidth that it would take to run 72 participants for 24 hours at Spa in ACC? I think it would slow down the entire internet!!!!!

Is that your or my (or anyone who's willing to participate) their concern then?

After all it was Kunos who said they would simulate into detail the Blancpain championship. So far they haven't. And yes, if GTR2 could do it with 60ish cars (and modded with 180), pretty sure a game that is 13 years younger could do it as well right? Otherwhise, what is progress worth anyway?

I'm waiting on Kunos going through with their exact simulation of the Blancpain series.

Not too sure about this build.
I normally have a great experience with ACC in VR, but since the last update I'm getting some hefty frame rate drops from time to time combined with some lengthy stutters (feels about half a second) never had these problems before.
Oh and while I'm whinging, My race replays will no longer save.
Moan over.

Strange things happened yesterday. Started an AI race on Paul Ricard and lost power on the mistral straight. Restarted, same again. Restarted game and race, again!
All other input works, just accellerator is dead.
Also sometimes the display on the Audi R8 went blank.

Anyone can confirm or is this just me? Cheers
My throttle sensor on my homemade pedals died but that was my issue!

32 cars max I believe but your point still stands, it's immersion-breaking, not even half of the real grid.
Kunos has the Blancpain licence but iRacing is a better place to be if you want a 24h of Spa, it's ridiculous.

What's most unsettling is that this opinion can't be expressed on their own forums cause the post got deleted moments after it was posted.

That really unsettles me as an otherwhise rather satisfied customer.

I've seen opinions way way way harder than yours in our forum without problems.
Simply word them without insulting anybody and you should be fine.

As for your wish.. all I can say is that there are 2 kinds of people in this world.. those who can learn to enjoy what they have and what can be done, and those who'll remain permanently disappointed.. some would simply phrase this as: are you an half full glass guy or an half empty one?

Is the fact that you can't have 70 cars in one race enough to stop you from enjoying the entire game? Only you have the answer to this question, and you won't find it on a forum.

I'm not sure if this was asked in the official forums, I'd wager it has a couple of times at least.

Would it be possible to see more available slots in the future?

Would it be possible to see more available slots in the future?

If I could see the future I'd drop sim racing, place a couple of good bets and enjoy the rest of my life on a beach somewhere :p

At the moment there's no work going on in that area, at least for SP.. MP could have some margin but we've got way bigger fishes to deal with for the foreseeable future.

if I remember correctly, people raised this issue very very early on and the answer was that the AI are what is eating up a lot of the computing power, so while they might be able to actually put more cars on the grid, our PCs would not be able to do all the computing. I may have gotten this wrong, though. In iRacing we talk about online, so each player's PC only has to calculate one car and gets the others just as a sort of status report, no calculation work to be done. So, makes sense iRacing finds it easier to put 60 or so cars on a grid.
