Since you posted your question in the AMS section... get AMS.
That is indeed an important point!Looking at steamcharts.com, active players of rF2 outnumber AMS by about 3x and that directly translates across to online players by what I've seen in the game lobbies.

But I think in this specific case he should look at the Racedepartment Calendar since he got premium. I see more AMS races than rF2
rF2 is now free online, the subscription has been dropped when it switched to Steam…I`ll of course try AMS online if I buy it (not sure about rF2 for now as that needs additional fee), but I was mostly thinking about using it offline to see what it offers as both sims are strong in the racers hearts.
Sooner or later I`ll probably get both, all sims add something different to the experience.
As @alexSchmurtz mentioned, no additional fees. Also, there is a demo of rF2. In my opinion the demo doesn't do a very good job at exposing the real beauty of rF2 (FWD Civic, not the best) but you can get a feel. Also note though, a complete face-lift (UI) is right around the corner so the demo won't be an indicator of the near future.I actually mostly do R3E online and sometimes AC.

To add to that, it's not even about it being too complex or un-user friendly for developers and modders. A piece of software can be the most complex in the world while also being very user friendly but that doesn't mean what it outputs is going to be correct.Really good and detail answer Chris
I just disagree in the part of the tyre model, rF2's tyre model is really advanced, more than in AMS or rF, but its so complicated that professional sims still don't use them, the main complain seems that rF2 tyre model doens't allowed a engineering approach, because the crazy amount of variables the model has, the harder to get data from them ot get them right...
In this video from exactly minute 10 prof. David Limebeer explains that a tyre model should be a good balance of simplification and preservation of model accuracy, and maybe that's why some physics gurus / professional teams probably prefer to work with the tyre model based in rf1 and not rf2, at least is the idea I have.
I removed it as polls more often than not just result in people voting for their favourite, rather than articulating in the comments section why or why not you should get Sim A over Sim B.Don`t know why the poll disappeared from this tread, but that doesn`t matter much anymore.
well rF2 is for 15 euro right now .. why don`t you give yourself an extra gift ... you can always refund it if you dont like itThank you all for the great help, after all I went for AMS for now, but I`m pretty sure I want rF2 as well in nearest future and something tells me it`ll keep on getting better with new devs
