This 1967 historic version of the Sachsenring should be a great test for these cars.

Not the Sachsenring i remember, a difficult track, very difficult, certainly tests the lack of damping in the Alfa.
I don't hold out much hope for surviving, another race of fingers crossed toes crossed survival race.
I cannot imagine I will repeat the luck of the Alfa's last outing.

Its not a race winning set up, but it's my work in progress. Maybe ernie has something to share, he's quick in the alfa

I was going to say everyone seems a lot faster Robert, but just noticed all have migrated to the Escort.

So my advise would be ignore the Alfa setup and drive the RS1600....

I have a story to share with you guys that i think you will like. As the older guys will know, it is great to be able to still link things with the past and what i just discovered blew me away on a few levels. It involves a certain Maurice Charles who nobody on here will of ever heard of. He was a friend of my Dad and often used to visit us at work and i would be very interested in his motor racing past which he would talk freely to me about for hours. My dad used to tune his cars in his early racing days but the reason for this woffle is that Maurice actually drove as a privateer in two 24 hour Le Mans events driving Jaguars.
I recently downloaded a Jaguar D type which had been updated from a source we must not mention on here and was just looking past the British Racing Green which we all feel is correct and wow behold stumbled upon Maurice Charles 57 in Blue. Could i of ever imagined with this modern hobby which i have fully taken too using VR and actually sitting in the car this man used to drive in the 50,s. A three way connection with myself and two now deceased people knocked me a bit sideways i must admit.
Sorry, just had to get that out there and no, he did not finish either race

That was his second go at it with the E Type. The 1st was with a D type. Nice find though Colin, i had not seen that.

Excellent article Colin. The auther was bang on about the factory support. With both races Lofty England used to through competition parts at him from the back door of the factory and in probability those red wheels would of been a freebe that Morris as i knew him would never of turned down
