A Good Sim Racing Combination?

In AC,
1967 F1 @ Spa '66
Group 5 / DRM @ Österreichring '79
Lotus 98T @ Brands Hatch GP
1960s Prototypes @ Le Grand Circuit
Group C @ Mosport or Watkins Glen

And a special mention,
Peugeot 205 T16 @ Pitkäjärvi in Dirt Rally

Those are the most intense sim experiences I've had and sure to get the adrenaline pumping.

Honestly @Paul Jeffrey I believe that the lack of enthusiasm comes mostly from the lack of a purpose. I've felt the same too in simracing, and now I think I've found a good solution to boost my simracing addiction again. I've decided to try and set the fastest lap time I could at the Nordschleife with each car present in the AC roster (drift cars excluded). Starting from slower to faster. I am currently at the Toyota GT86, so 10-11 cars in maybe (out of 178). Yes, probably never gonna drive them all, but it is getting me into the virtual cockpit more often with a "drive" to be there again. So my suggestion is, set yourself a simracing goal. Might be winning a championship, setting a series of fast laptimes, getting the achievements of a specific sim. You name it ;)

To be honest, individual cars and tracks don't do it for me anymore. Haven't for a long time because truth be told, even with VR in sim racing I still get more fun out of driving my VW Caddy in real life.

What does still get me going is a good club event with a decent grid, close racing, and plenty of banter. Unfortunately those are few and far between these days, either due to low numbers or just near-zero socialisation... or both.

Why not sign up for @Craig Dunkley 's event Wednesday 29 Jan 2020?:p
You guys really ought to think about Fri/Sat evening events. When I used to host they were always the busiest nights on the server. I probably would have joined a session or two by now if there were some prime time events.

I could never pick one favourite combo, right this moment... GT40 at RIR sports car course in AC.

Sim racing is much like life in general; searching for a purpose. I guess the core aim of racing sims is to improve yourself, whether it be laps times, race-craft, drifting...

I remember a certain streamer saying that with sims you have to make your own fun, which is true it seems.

Assetto Corsa, Spa, GT3 cars for the fun of racing against others.
Nordschleife, Feldbergring, Deutschlandring, Fonteny with the MX5 cup for solo driving.

AMS - Formula V10, Goiania. That first corner is just immense in any car with mega downforce

FH4 - S1 class Lola T70 Mk3 around Holyrood Park Circuit. A godly combination!

Assetto Corsa - Ferrari F2004 around the Nordschleife. Nice and Foggy for an even more ultimate challenge!

rFactor - Megane Trophy at Toban Grand Prix layout. It's got grip for days, and the long sweeping corners of Toban just suit it.

January is here, and frankly I'm worn out and feeling a little bit down in the dumps. Like every year at this time, my enthusiasm for pretty much everything feels a little on the low side
Do some vitamin D, mate... no joking around with your health. Folks on England use to suffer a lack on this.

Dear readers, let us know what your favourite sim / car / track and weather or time of day combination you use to get those sim racing juices flowing, and reignite that passion for all things virtual motorsport!

It can be any game or sim, from any era. All we need in the responses is the car and track (and weather / time of day if you wish) that you like to fire up and drive when you want to really feel the joy of sim racing.

Spread the love folks!

The mate is not from this comunity and I don't know if I this forum's rules let me post links (If it's allowed and you want I leave the links here), but a lad nicknamed Bazza released some weeks ago a classic touring pack for AC that is my favorite pack ever.

These cars, on classic tracks (or some modern, like Ahvenisto, that has updated today, Cadwell, Lime Rock, Kicevo, etc) can put a smile on everyone face. Even if you go just for some hotlaps or trackday with AI.

PS: And do the vitamin D complement... not joking.
