2017 Ferrari SF70H Coming to Assetto Corsa

Following the recent poll to choose the final car in the upcoming 'Ferrari 70th Anniversary' DLC, Kunos have confirmed the new machine will be.... the 2017 Formula One car!

With the votes in and counted, the results checked and double checked, the final car from the upcoming Ferrari DLC has been confirmed as the machine raced by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen in the 2017 Formula One World Championship.

With one of Ferraris most successful Formula One cars in recent years, the SF70H has proven to be the most desirable car in a list of fantastic vehicles selected by Kunos Simulazioni, and as such will be added to the DLC line up due to release later this year for Assetto Corsa.

Could it be that we might have the 2017 WDC winning machine in AC before the end of the year, or will the works Ferrari squad find a way to throw away this years title challenge?

The Ferrari 70th Anniversary DLC will contain:

• 1962 250 GTO
• 1967 330 P4
• 1967 312/67
• 1984 288 GTO
• 2004 F2004
• 2017 812 Superfast
• Ferrari SF70H

The vote setup by Kunos pulled in over 30,000 responses before close of play yesterday, and not unsurprisingly the 2017 SF70H F1 car pulled in a substantial amount of votes more than second placed finisher, the 1970 512M. With 15.39% for the 2017 car in comparison to 11.41% for the 512M, it was always going to come down to the two "key" vehicles as voted for by the community.

So this technically includes every person with an e-mail account on earth and possible 'voting-bots'.

Steamspy says 91k users were in-game in the last two weeks. The vote had more than 30k. There's little margin for 'illegal' voting in this poll.
That number from steamspy is a bit inflated because of the summer sales. But during normal periods there's above 60k users in game in the last two weeks.

This thread has close to 240 posts, if 30k voted that means this thread represents 0.8% of the total, and if we take the million of AC owners (no idea the exact number, but it's over that I believe if we count consoles) it is a little bit above 0,02%.

That´s exactly the way polls before elections are made ... you take a little gruop, of one you think it`s a mirror of the country, community or whatever.. and here you are.

and that´s why the fail so often.
Just remeber the Brexit and Mr Trump...

Please don't let people choose what they want for the sim anymore. I know I've criticized Kunos for sometimes not listening to the community, but when given the chance, the simracing community just shows an incredible ability to behave like children.
So for the love of Assetto Corsa, just choose whatever you find best for the next DLCs and let people deal with it however they want.

There's only this fuss now because only one car could be made out of all the voting. There was a poll in 2013 where people chose cars and tracks and several of the most voted ones are already in game.

I imagine a lot more people would have been happier if the top 2 or 3 out of this ferrari poll would come to the game.
Still, probably for an Assetto Corsa 2 we might get new Ferrari cars besides the ones in this game and in this pack.

The SF70H is a very good choice since the new F1 regulations have changed (new aero vs new tyres). If KS gets the correct data of the car, it will be a real hybrid beast to tam...

Speaking about community:
Lets be honest to ourselves -there is nothing like "The community"... we have several groups with their special interests. We have the fans of GT racing, the fans of classic racers, the LMP freaks, the modern F1 fans, the fans of street cars and some others. They all have the same right, to play as they want.

And Kunos tries to make their DLC buyable for all of us... it´s seems it´s like playing russian roulette, i don´t want to be in their shoes ...

Would it be smarter to make more specialized DLC? I don`t know - but let´s do an mindgame.
A spezialized , let`s say DPI DLC would be made for fans of endurance racing - there immeadiatly will be massive complaints like"Why no Formual1" or "We want more classic types" -and so on.

What you will do, will be wrong for a lot of people. Keeping that in mind, the poll seems no good idea. Or it would have been better to put the SF70 directly in the DLC and keep it out of the poll. Perhaps this or perhaps that...

But after damage is done, it´s easy to be the clever one...

Actually, 962c didnt have any competitor, unless another 962c.

Almost complains about cars didnt have a competitor on AC in my opinion is useless. It seems like people wants to loose races on line. So, I choose the 512M on on line just to loose all races against 917k?

On GT3 and GTE things are different because of BOP. So, thinking about a competitor car, the 488 GTE was the best of the list of Kunos on vote, better than anything else. But with AC already have two others 488, it is a redundant car.

Because every time they make a new car with new technologies the game evolves and they implement new staff to the code.

And for the record, I haven't played AC in a while, and I voted. And it the winning result were a bicycle I would think there is something strange. But the winning car is the 2017 F1 car. Didn't anyone thought it would be possible for it to win? Really? Just because 300 comments in here talk about other classic cars or whatever? It's a poll. It's for all the AC players. And you (we) are not the majority. Don't never think that your opinion is the opinion of all the world. You are not the world.

Now keep going with your life and don't buy the DLC or don't play with that car. Pretty easy. Don't really understand that much hate for AC and Project Cars 2 (pictures and announcements) nowaday. This niche community struggles to be any positive for developers. I can understand why there aren't that much racing sims developers.

Be grateful, it's a freaking F1 2017 official car with realistic physics.

I'm so disappointed... and I want to stay gentle, that's my way of life !

I polled for the F1 312T4 remembering Gilles Villeneuve and if the 126C2 (remembering Gilles Villeneuve again !) was in the poll, It makes me wonder and It made an historical sense !
Well, this F1 2017 is, in my opinion, the worst choice, sorry !

They were so much other fantastic and historical cars in this poll !

Maybe I'm too old, born in 1964, my ears are totally inadapted for the actual F1 motor sounds and the handling makes me unhappy...
Be smooth and sensitive on the throttle is a endless and unforgettable joy.

In my case that was mostly because I knew I'd get the classic "If you don't choose a classic car then you're not a simracer", "If you want F1 go play codemasters' F1" comments from every person that considers themselves a "real simracer" and everyone that does things differently to be wrong. Looking at this thread I can see that I was right in not saying that on any forum.

I can even understand people not liking the result (Although not the ones that argue for hours that they were right and everyone else should sod off), but thinking that Kunos messed with the results? I mean, the SF70H was an easy favourite of the poll, and what would be the point of making a poll if they could just choose the SF70 and save themselves a lot of headache?

Seeing adults with this sort of behavior just makes me question my will to continue with simracing, maybe spending too much time on a toy steering wheel will mess with my head and make me behave weirdly like that as well in the future.
