Since the endless discussion on Hamilton's penalty is getting on my nerves...

Personal opinion on driver's chances to win:

Maldonado - Extremely unlikely, doesn't have the nerves and probably not the race pace either
Alonso - Chart posted above shows that he still doesn't have the race pace. However, you always have to account for the fact that a) he is god and b) it might rain. So pretty good odds, I'd say.
Grosjean - Fastest car if it remains hot, it's possible (but not likely) he can beat his teammate
Raikkonen - The driver with the best chances if it remains hot. Probably also if it rains.
Perez - The Sauber is mighty fast so I think his chances are still better than Maldonado's.
Rosberg - Chart posted above shows that the Mercedes have worked on their race pace. One less set of tyres than Schumacher though.
Vettel - I'd say that after Raikkonen and Alonso, probably the guy with the third best chances. Plus, tends to have absurd luck sometimes.
Schumacher - See Rosberg's pace, plus spare set of tyres. If it rains and the Mercedes can keep its tyres up to temperature, he might have a shot

So, imo 9 drivers could win the race - sounds epic :)

No. That is not the exact reasons, that is in layman's terms. In each circumstance, a different amount of fuel could of been in the tank, in some cases the fuel might of been enough. In other cases the rules might of been different. I also heard that the reason why the penalty was so harsh was because of lying within Mclaren.
They all failed to reach pit lane on their own power = three different forms of penalty.

Canada 2010:

It happened it qualifying, however, article 6.6.2. of the technical regulations did not exist yet. Therefore, the FIA charged him with:

The team instructed the driver to stop on the circuit causing him to exceed the maximum time as defined in Document 15 – Race Directors’ Not to Teams of 11 June 2010, 19:06
Offence: Breach of article 15.1 of the 2010 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations
Penalty: Reprimand and a fine of $10,000

They didn't want this to happen again and not have a proper response to it, so they created article 6.6.2.

Nürburgring 2011 (or anything else you came up with):

It happened in the race. Article 6.6.2 only applies to qualifying.

Spain 2012:

Happened in qualifying, which is what article 6.6.2 refers to.

No can we please move on? This is getting old...

Yeah Williams can have a go. I heard from someone that Frank Williams actuallly stood up and walked when he saw Pastor on top.

Lewis punishment wont be dropped 'til next race. hehehehehe :whistling:

If it´s after Qualifying then it´s not ok. If it´s after the race then it´s ok.

Like it matters one bit.

Actually it does because Mosley is a racist. Anyone who claims otherwise isn´t in their right mind or is a shadow nazi themselves.
Then you need to complain about the rule or the way it was conceived, not the steward's decision.

I didn't hear it from a link. I heard it from the live footage of the session, Martin Whitmarsh saying it was a technical problem.
You said you heard that Mclaren lied.

Prove it. Fuel is a techincal part of the car. If you run out of it then you have a techincal issue because the car stops working.

Whitmarsh refused to be drawn on offering any insight into the reasons behind Hamilton being given the order to stop.
But a suggestion that the problem was in the pits rather than on the car could point to a problem in the pits meaning not enough fuel went into the car ahead of his final run.
"It is a technical problem that happened in the garage that didn't impede the performance of the car in anyway, and we stopped the car when it had 1.3-litres of fuel in the car," said Whitmarsh.
He added: "There was a technical problem that led to that situation. I think it is not for me to decide; but I would believe that to be a force majeure but it is up to the stewards to decide."

Edit: Woops, quoted wrong post above. I meant:
If it´s after Qualifying then it´s not ok. If it´s after the race then it´s ok.

Like it matters one bit.
