I agree with how harsh the penalty is. It is ridiculous sending Hamilton all the way to the back of the grid. But I'm not against the penalty. If the rules state that he needs enough fuel to make it to the pits then he deserves a penalty. But it shouldn't be this harsh in my opinion. It's not like he hit another driver or something.

So you can change penalty as you like then. First time i heard that one.

They never said that if this happens again, you will be disqualified from the session.
Again, he got the same penalty as someone crashing into another driver on purpose or parking your car in the middle of the road in the middle of a session.

This is not consistent one bit.
Well the first punishment can be seen as a first hefty reprimand that such a thing will be punished. And I think it's normal if there's not a set punishment for something very unsporty that the punishments only become higher to avoid that behaviour. Especially if you do it a second time.

higher?

They went from Nothing to the most severe one you can get apart from being banned from the race.

Again it seems you think this was Hamilton´s choice.

A penalty has to be applied equally to every driver that has done that same infraction. Having different levels for different drivers is just bias in my opinion. But hey, it's just my opinion. :D

Well I think Hamilton does have a say on his personal setup of the car. Further it's a mistake by the team..
But remember when Schumacher drove with illegal fuel in Belgium 1994, HE got banned while in fact it was the teams fault. That would be the same..

This must be a joke? Alonso ended in the gravel trap in Australia.
Not sure what happened to Koba, but probably there was a legit reason he didn't return.

In the case of Hamilton there's no legit reason.
Hamilton failed to meet article 6.6.2 and there was no technical reason that he had to stop. It was just not having enough fuel.

I'm tired of these racism-sayers. Really.. Maybe look at your own or your team's mistakes. That's always lacking with those people saying everything is racism, while they mostly just don't look at their own faults... Btw it's something often happening at McLaren. Remember how many times McLaren failed when Hakkinen and Coulthard drove there? And how many times they failed with Kimi at the wheel?!

Racism is something where you make difference of race.
In this case it's the difference of meeting requirements. If you get into a gravel trap and damage the underside of your car, you don't have to meet 6.6.2. Often you can't even leave the gravel trap! Or if you get an oil leak, or a blown-up engine. Whatever..

If you stop for no other reason than 'not enough fuel' than you have a problem and you're punished to the back of the grid. Simple.

But I'm sure that the FIA also looks if someone drove purposely into a gravel trap, and in the case of Alonso there's no reason a driver would try something dangerous like what happened to him to secure a good position.

No one is disputing a rule was broken.

The punishment i'm sorry to say, is bull:poop:. No reason to drop him all the way back, that's a ludicrous decision.

If you think a group of fascists can run an organisation and be completely impartial to someone of colour, then congratulations, people like you let the 3rd Reich happen.

But he never ran illegal fuel.... he simply did not drive into the pits. Do you not even hear that there´s lightyears between these two cases.

It's possible they gave the relatively severe penalty because they felt McLaren was trying to lie to them. Claiming that a mechanic's error is supposed to be a 'force majeure' is kinda bullshit. Perhaps Hamilton would be in P6 now if McLaren had told the truth from the beginning...

The punishments should NEVER become higher even if a driver does it again and again. If a gear box change means 5 seat drop then it should stay a 5 seat drop even if the driver would do 20 changes in a whole year.

I don't get why people say that he deservs getting this penalty after what he have been able to miss and don't relize that penalties need to be consistant and 100% clear. In this case FIA isn't doing a good job in my point of view. I would like to know if FIA used the telemetry of Hamiltons car to calculate if the car would make it to the pit even if Hamilton used the lowest mix.

I can only laugh about a comment like this. It shows how shortsighted some people become if a father or whatever has joined something very wrong that they're sure son has done the same.

You're the same like people saying all current Germans are Hitler. Or that the current Germans are also guilty of the holocaust.
Do you have ANY proof they're fascists except that their fathers were good friends with them? NO, you don't. And you can't blame a child for what their father has done!

You're the same like people saying all white South Africans are racists, just because there was a pro-white racist regime in SA until 1994..

Well, i hope the race tomorrow not gonna be as boring as the endless story here of Hamiltons penalty :D
Interesting grid, will Maldonado copy Ricciardos Bahrain start? I hope he wont a Williams win would elevate this seasons level (which is already amazing)
