These are the numbers what Mark Gallagher Cosworth exboss said, i can t argue with you, i have no data, but i belive he knows it better than you. :)
Also if 0,3 would be enough they wouldn t stop without a mechanical failure
Cosworth engine versus one of the most fuel efficient engines. No comparison.

Martin already said that after they checked how much fuel really was in the tank that he would have made it.
However you can´t know exactly how much fuel you have left in the car by looking at a computer screen.

So, what's your explanation then for him stopping, if he clearly didn't have a mechanical issue, and he had enough fuel to get to the pits?

Because the team was unsure. If you actually read the comment you would see that.....................

You can´t know exactly how much fuel is left in the car by looking at a computer screen. Only when you actually take out the fuel you know how much is left.

Try and read comments before quoting them in the future Dewald.

That's a nice mature response.

Anyway, so you have proven our points then that they took a chance and was found out.

Actually it´s not.

this was the reason the whole rule was created. But it only seems to apply for some people.
Wrong Hampus

Just to show you again:
Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample
of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back
to the pits under its own power.
A race is not practice, the qualy however is practice.

Actually it´s not.

Article 6.6.2
Competitors must ensure that a one litre sample of fuel may be taken from the car at any time during the Event.

Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back to the pits under its own power.
There's nothing to debate here, plain and simple.

Yea because you sound so mature yourself....

Never occured that someone actually did mis-calculate the fuel?
They did that in Australia as well where both drivers ran on fuel saving mode for much of the race.

Just use your logic here. 1 extra kg of fuel equals less then one tenth.
When you consider Hamilton first of all made two small mistakes on his pole lap and the fact that he was half a second clear of anyone else tells you that they could have ran 2kg´s more of fuel and still be well within taking pole.

Ah why thank you :)

There was no way for McLaren to know it would be more than enough before he went out, that's why they took the chance.

Hindsight is 20/20 vision.

So? Then McLaren should've given him 2kg more fuel. It's their own fault.

If I need to drive to Amsterdam and I need 20litres of fuel I'm not going to try it on 15litres without refueling...
Nobody is disputing that...,

The problem is the penalty. It seems people are ok with Hamilton having his own personal penalties.

Again, he got disqualified for not getting to the pits. He did have enough fuel to complete the lap, he did have enough fuel for the mandatory test.

He got a penalty that is the same as if you would park your car in qualifying and block everyone setting a lap time.

Never said that. If the same happened to Schumacher I would think nothing of it...

And being a Mercedes fan, I said that Rosberg should've been punished for his Bahrain antics.
