I think it's too harsh. I would have taken his last laptime, or in worst case dq him from q3 so he would start p10.
In general I'm happy with the results btw, Williams had a nice race pace in the first rounds but they really lacked performance in qualifying. It seems they solved it for Maldonado. Lets hope he can save it for the race!

As for the hamilton's penalty, if they had followed all FIA rules on fuel quantity, what would have been Hamilton's best time instead 1:21.707??????

So, hold on. Kobayashi didn't return to the pits, he starts 9th. Alonso did the same thing in Australia, he started 10th.

Hamilton does it, back of the grid.

??

FIA - Ferrari international assistance. They realized that removing Hamilton will give an almost clear way for Alonso and voile! I'm really surprised they didn't penalize him for overtaking Rosberg off the track. 5 places OK, 10 places, but last? When was the last time you've seen such a penalty?

They should have excluded his Q3 time and used his Q2 time. But once again McLaren have ruined things for their drivers.

Australia: Slow stop costs Hamilton 2nd place to Vettel.
Malaysia: Slow stops cost him a potential victory.
China: Slow stop costs Button a potential victory.
Bahrain: Pit crew still failing.
Spain: Threw away pole position by over half a second.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. It's racism. Pure and simple.

The dinosaurs in the FIA are from another time, a time where disgusting treatment of anyone not white was acceptable.

These dinosaurs still hold these medieval views. Mosley's father was leader of the fascist party, And Todt's family were in with the Mussolini lot.

He got fined at Monaco for saying what he said because it cut a little too close to the bone.

What? The rules were contravened, they got punished. Nothing more to it.

This must be a joke? Alonso ended in the gravel trap in Australia.
Not sure what happened to Koba, but probably there was a legit reason he didn't return.

In the case of Hamilton there's no legit reason.
Hamilton failed to meet article 6.6.2 and there was no technical reason that he had to stop. It was just not having enough fuel.
Competitors must ensure that a one litre sample of fuel may be taken from the car at any time
during the Event.
Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a
sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been
driven back to the pits under its own power.

I'm tired of these racism-sayers. Really.. Maybe look at your own or your team's mistakes. That's always lacking with those people saying everything is racism, while they mostly just don't look at their own faults... Btw it's something often happening at McLaren. Remember how many times McLaren failed when Hakkinen and Coulthard drove there? And how many times they failed with Kimi at the wheel?!

Racism is something where you make difference of race.
In this case it's the difference of meeting requirements. If you get into a gravel trap and damage the underside of your car, you don't have to meet 6.6.2. Often you can't even leave the gravel trap! Or if you get an oil leak, or a blown-up engine. Whatever..

If you stop for no other reason than 'not enough fuel' than you have a problem and you're punished to the back of the grid. Simple.

But I'm sure that the FIA also looks if someone drove purposely into a gravel trap, and in the case of Alonso there's no reason a driver would try something dangerous like what happened to him to secure a good position.

And now we have a loophole.

Do what Hamilton did but just before you run out of fuel just crash the car and you are good to go for the race.
Schumacher Monaco 2006.

They took 1.3 l sample. Wasn't that enough?
He needs to make it back to the pits which wouldn't have been possible without using up those 1.3 liters

Button ran out of fuel after a race but he did not get a single penalty.
It's kind of semi-allowed after the race. However, if you do it too often, you get a penalty.

It's not allowed after the race, mid race or mid q. It's a rule for everybody but actually it's for Hamilton. Schumi was penilized not because he ran out of fuel but because he deliberately blocked the track.

Nobody has ever gotten this penalty.

Are you implying there should be a different penalty for different people?

Button ran out of fuel after a race but he did not get a single penalty.

Yes because they were the reason the rule was created.

Well deserved, they broke a rule, wich was made because of them. They knew about the mechanics failure in time, and still let Hamilton do a fast lap. Looks like something not right with the team this season, lot of mistakes.

It only gets applied when you stop for no reason. Clearly Button etc. had mechanical issues of some kind. Are you actually claiming the FIA are not only biased towards some teams, but certain drivers in same teams as well?
