That Leon Haslam is a force to be reckon with this year.
He has the same driving style like Nitro Nori.
Cant wait to see him on Assen this year.

Good to see Yamaha have the chatter issues from Phillip Island resolved, great effort by Cal.

Wonder how Ducati feel about their riders being bettered by Checa and Smrz.

Cheers.

Looks like the Aprilia's are gona be quick this year and with Leon Camiar getting two 5th places it looks like he is starting to get to grips with the RSV aswell......

Congratulations Max! Hopefully the RSV continues to be a front runner.

Great rides by Biaggi, Haslam and Rea in the first race. Pity Cal made a few mistakes before binning his bike. I was also hoping Checa would feature more prominently during the race but couldn't keep pace.

Second race was more of the same up the front, Biaggi using all his defensive riding skills to hold off Haslam with
Crutchlow getting a well deserved 3rd. Rea had a good chance to visit the podium again but an engine blow up saw the end of race 2 prematurely.

Biggest disappointments were the Xerox Ducati team results, way off the pace all weekend. I was also hoping Toseland would be up the front, I guess his hand is still not right after injuring it in Australia.

Cheers.

WSB Valencia first Qualifying: Checa in control, Ducati’s set the pace

By Michael Guy -
World Superbikes
09 April 2010 17:37

Carlos Checa illustrated once again his affinity with the Valencia race track by dominating the opening qualifying session this afternoon.

The 37 year old Spaniard ended the day 0.282 seconds faster than his closest rival Jacob Smrz, but it was the consistency that he was able to post mid 1m 34s laps during the session that is ominous for his rivals.
Althea Ducati team-mate Shane Byrne secured third fastest to make it three Ducati’s in the top three. Fourth was a smooth riding Max Biaggi with series leader Leon Haslam in fifth.

The next three places were filled with the Ducati’s of Michel Fabrizio, Noriyuki Haga and Lorenzo Lanzi.
The remaining Brits had a less successful day with Crutchlow ninth, Camier tenth, Toseland 12th, Rea 13th, Sykes 19th and Andrews 24th.

Second qualifying takes place on Saturday at 10.45am.

Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider Jonathan Rea dominated the opening Free Practice session in Assen this morning.
Rea took full advantage of his two day test at the track last week and maintained his position at the top of the timesheets throughout the hour long session.

Second place went to the Troy Corser who looked smooth and comfortable onboard his ever improving BMW S1000RR around the newly revised 4.452KM circuit. Cal Crutchlow showed his speed to claim third with championship leader Leon Haslam in fourth.

Althea Ducati rider Shane Byrne was the next best placed Brit in seventh with James Toseland ninth, Tom Sykes 14th and Leon Camier in 17th.

I'd expect the Ten Kate Honda's to be leading both WSBK and WSS classes, given it's their home track and joth Rea and Keenan Superglue :) (in WSS) have been riding extremely well. Rea has enjoyed a lot of back luck in the opening rounds, would be nice to see him win.

Two big surpirses: Corser in 2nd (which is great) and Nori all the way back in 16th!

Cheers.
