2009 British Touring Car Championship

Collard moaned about James Nash's driving style, he wants to look at his own. He rammed off Shedden in race 2 and fortunately Shedden had the balls to put him in the gravel on the next lap. But then Collard put Shedden out of race 3. It amazes me how one weekend to another the clerk of the course and the stewards change the way they think races should be driven.

well really 'rammed of shedden in race2' is a bit of lies really, more of pushed shedden wide would be more of an accurate post.

But im shocked when u moan about peoples driving style while u lick matt neals arse every weekend

You know what im not gonna bother posting in here anymore because its pointless when its full of people like you that cant have a proper conversation without bringing who someone supports into it. Your age shows 22, did you accidently press the button twice? or are you just some chav that thinks they are better than everyone else.

YOU said he RAMMED him off the track, this was not the case, YOU say that matt neal won his 2 championships because he was a GOOD driver, YOU said you are amazed by the clerk of the course raced that weekend have different judgment about incidents.

Ill have a proper conversation with you about my feelings about the race weekend, if YOU will only see it from a proper/fair/neutral point of view.

And its a Ned here, not a chav.

Very attractive racing again in BTCC last weekend. Enjoyed it a lot :) (as always)

Btw M. Neal is an idiot. Don't like his unfair (but allowed in btcc) passing style. It always brings a good smile on my face when he is off track (during race) :)

to be honest i don't mind a seeing a bit of rubbing and Matt Neal is deffo a man that does his fair share of it. So long as it's a give and take affair and not brutal ramming then its good to see.

Tommo, Neal, Fab, Plato, Turks, Sheddon, Jordan, Collard, Adam, O'Neil... are but a few I saw using this technique at Knockhill. It's the nature of the car.

I agree Collard didn't ram Sheddon in race2... he gave a gentle nudge wide... but got pay back later on when hung out to dry on the outside of the corner. Don't think either driver has come forward pointing fingers. Hard aggressive racing from the two of them and very entertaining to watch as a fan.

he is only driving as he got the money as dynamics are hoping to develop the new car next season so can push for title in 2011.

Great news - Reidy back with WSR in the 3rd Beemer from Silverstone

Whilst I know he may take the whole round to get up to speed, it will guarantee a great end to the season - Reidy, Neal and Collard together is a recipe for great racing (or carnage depending on how you view it)

Reid in third RAC BMW
Superstar Anthony Reid will join Team RAC for Silverstone's round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship this Sunday (30 August).

Reid, who has not been in the BTCC since 2004, will race a third BMW 320si for Dick Bennetts’ squad alongside Stephen Jelley and Colin Turkington.

Northern Irishman Turkington currently leads the Drivers’ championship but is coming under increasing pressure from Vauxhall’s Italian ace Fabrizio Giovanardi who himself already has two highly-competitive team-mates in Matt Neal and Andrew Jordan.

Oxford-based Reid, with 15 race wins in the BTCC and who has twice finished as championship runner-up, said: “Driving for Team RAC is a fantastic opportunity and one I just couldn’t turn down. It’s great being re-united with the crew at WSR again and I already feel right at home. It’s especially good for me having Colin as a team-mate again and I’ll be doing all I can to help him and Team RAC win the Championship.

“It’s also going to be fun locking horns with fellow ‘old boys’ Plato and Neal; we’ve had some great battles over the years and no doubt we’ll have more this weekend!”

Team principal Dick Bennetts, who ran Reid in MGs from 2001-04, added: “Our hand’s been forced by Vauxhall instituting team orders at Knockhill with Matt Neal and Andrew Jordan giving positions and points to Fabrizio.

“There’s nothing wrong in them doing that; in fact it shows what good team-players they both are. However three against two isn’t a fair fight, so that’s why we’ve brought in Anthony to assist Colin and Stephen.

“It’s going to be tough for him, never having driven the car before and having to carry maximum ballast of 45kgs (as a late entry penalty), but we expect him to be quickly up to speed and right up there in the races.

“Finally, we would like to thank BMW for their support in making this late entry possible.”

Reid becomes the latest big name in the last fortnight to confirm his addition to the BTCC grid as it enters its crucial stages with rounds at Silverstone, Rockingham (20 Sept) and Brands Hatch GP (4 Oct) to go.

Former Formula 1 star Johnny Herbert has also just announced he will be racing a Honda Civic for Team Dynamics in the closing three events of the season.
