Ginetta G50 crash updates

Thought I'd update you guys on some news on the Ginetta crash from the BTCC Oulton Park weekend.

Apparently, Mark Proctor will never drive again due to breaking his back in the Oulton Park smash. I think he has announced he is retiring. I've not seen any official news on this, so only passing on what I've heard.

If anyone knows any official news then please post it up

:)

shame that, not the fastest of drivers but heard he was a really nice guy to have in the series and general nice guy around the paddock both in BTCC and Ginetta's

Giovanardi - "it would be fantastic to continue with Triple Eight"

From touringcartimes.com

Double British Touring Car Championship champion and touring car legend Fabrizio Giovanardi is doing his last year with Vauxhall. The General Motors owned manufacturer announced their retirement earlier this year and the Italian commented the matter in an interview with TouringCarTimes.
"Vauxhall are owned by General Motors and we all know what the situation is," said Giovanardi to TouringCarTimes.com.

"I think that saving 5,000 people's job is far more important than racing, it is absolutely understandable that they prefer to focus on other things. I'm sorry about that, of course, but this is a decision I fully understand."

The decision leaves the Italian without a job after the final BTCC race at Brands Hatch on October the 4th.

"To be honest, I don't know what's going to happen. At the moment, I can't say anything about what I'll be doing next year. It would be fantastic to continue with Triple Eight, but the decision is entirely up to them."

Giovanardi is not ruling out that he could be continuing with Triple Eight in another car.

If anybody is going to this BTCC round, can you get some good pictures lol

I need some reference material for the track i`m building :)

I could get you some, how would you like them? Just general shots of all parts of the circuit?

I've driven round Croft a couple of times (IRL! :p) so let me know if I can help. :)

thats what gets me with plato, he always moans about Neal but drives the same way!

both are great drivers, just get on with it imo...

turkington looking good and nice to see fab back at the front - what a pass on thompson!

but Matt Neal was on the brakes and Plato was just pushin and pushin, if he doesnt get disqualified for it then it will be the last straw for me. BTCC this year has been boring compared to other years and Jason Plato at every chance he gets smashes Matt Neal off the track where as Matt Neal if he gets behind Plato he'll try pass cleanly but Plato often will move over on him on purpose when he goes for the place to make it look like Matt is being overly aggresive.

no he didnt he drove really well in the Integra, the only person that made him drive aggresively was Jason Plato in 2006, 2005 he drove great, middle of 2006 Jason Plato started to push him about so Matt Neal just gave as good as he got.

Great weekend for WSR - they seem to be getting stronger and stronger as the season goes on.

I wasn't too disappointed to see Neal get a taste of what he was doing at Brands Hatch, although the spin was a little unfortunate, but never mind, if it had of been dry I don't think he would have spun. Collard as well I also noticed went for a trip across the gravel. Considering how they started the year, Airwaves have struggled more than I expected.

I wouldn't rule Plato out of the championship - he's been banging in very consistent results the past few rounds, despite not winning a race since Brands and has been slowly moving up the standings.

that move by Plato wasnt on though, Matt was on the brakes and Plato just smashed straight into the back of him and pushed and pushed until he went round. Like some pathetic move you'd find someone doing on a public Race07 server.
