it's exhausting when u have hundreds of tracks u kno what i mean
Lol, I have three installs of GTR2 (counting one for P&G) sharing a common locations folder with over four hundred tracks ...after removing several dozen a couple of years ago.
what do u mean when u say " the AI will look for setups if they're set to use yours"
The AI normally use "default" setups derived from the cars' physics files, but can be set to use your setups for any car at any track; makes a difference when racing.
As example, we'll give the AI your 2003 Brno setup for a Ferrari 360.
-First, open your UserData\"player name"\xxx.plr file and find the lines-
Vehicle Specific AI Setups="0" // If 1, search specific vehicle directory for "<track>.<qual/race>.svm" or "<track>.svm" or "ai.svm" before falling back on game.gdb defaults
Default Player Setup="0"
Change both instances of ="0" to ="1"
-Now go to your UserData\"player name"\settings\Brno folder and find your setup for the Ferrari 360, copy that to the "Ferrari 360 Teams" root folder (where the eng, hdc, etc. files are).
-Next open the 3Brno.gdb file and note the "SettingsAI = Brno.svm", rename the setup you copied to the car folder to Brno.svm .
Now whenever the AI run the Ferrari 360 at Brno they will use that setup. You can even give them different qual and race setups by naming Brno.qual.svm and Brno.race.svm (I just give them my race setup, that's time consuming enough with hundreds of cars and hundreds of tracks ....and, no, I haven't done all of mine, lol). And the plr edit only tells the AI to use those setups
if they find one, otherwise they still use the default.
As for only one track appearing, temporarily remove that track folder from locations and see if the other track then appears. If it does, you have the same name appearing for both tracks somewhere, the game reads the first and ignores any others as duplicates; I always forget which name goes where in the displays and end up making notes from the game screens.
This is the official description, not very informative -
TrackName = Nordschleife Tourist // Name of Track
EventName = Tourist drives summer
GrandPrixName = Tourist drives summer //this must be the same as event name in order to sort circuit info correctly.
VenueName = Nordschleife_Tourist
